Enjoyed the audio tour on the park website that should be downloaded beforehand. Picnicked at one of the ramadas and did a short hike. Was planning at staying in Ajo but everything was fully booked.Written March 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 243DLPMidland, MI1,065 contributionsWe chose the Quail Trail - about 2 1/2 miles. It was fairly easy with a little up and down. The views were nice and it wasn't too busy. Definitely take water with you and use sunscreen. It was a cooler day, but the sun was pretty warm.Written February 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mands81Mesa, AZ6 contributionssuch a cool place to visit--their are picnic tables with some shade. The rocks are amazing and so fun to climb on. We drove our minivan down the gravel road and it took about 25min from the highway. It is really really bumpy--not with potholes, but tiny ridges. At times I thought our engine was going to rattle off the car. It was well worth the drive and my kids LOVED that we didn't have to hike anywhere--the rick formations are right off the parking lot. Of note--their are millions of little biting gnats--super annoying. They swarm you as soon as your stop moving. Not sure if they are there all the time.Written July 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BradWSellersburg, IN23 contributionsAZ 238 route. Nice drive and beautiful scenery. The BLM needs to spend Few thousand dollars to put up historic markers and trail markers so you know when you are approaching them and then mark where they are with nice descrption of their history.Written January 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Melinda GApache Junction, AZ51 contributionsWe found a quaint little outdoor performing arts theatre. It was a walking "adventure" with great actors, staff, and scenery. - M JAustin, TX7,990 contributionsNavajo National Monument is a 30 minute drive (one way) from Kayenta, AZ. The park rangers in the visitor’s center were helpful and friendly. We hiked the 1.3 miles round trip Sandal Trail (the most popular trail). The trail is fairly level, made of asphalt, has many benches, a couple short foot bridges and beautiful views. At the end of the trail, there is a viewing area of the cliff dwellings. Binoculars are very helpful. The visitor’s center has nice restrooms. The park is free.Written June 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Wonderful small, but jam packed, half acre with huge variety of cacti and other plants all lovingly cultivated by Steve who will give you a personal tour.
He has plants from ALL around the world and has a photographic memory able to recite facts about the plants and how he acquired them.
Loved our visit!
