44 Black Friday Electronic Deals You Don’t Want To Miss, From Apple Watches To Dyson Vacuums

Black Friday and Cyber Monday

This story is part of the Forbes Shopping guide to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, where we’ll be tracking the best deals all month long.

Although good Black Friday deals go beyond electronics, some of the steepest cuts happen in this department. One of the most popular deals to go live this Black Friday has been the Apple AirPods Pros, which are now currently sold out at Amazon, there are still many deals to be had this Cyber Week. That’s mainly because Black Friday electronics deals represent some of the best prices on tech products we’ll see all year. When in-demand products like Apple Watches and AirPods receive discounts of 30 or 40%, you know it’s the time to buy.

Especially in 2020, you should expect to see a wider variety of deals and all-time low prices for in-demand items, including Apple AirPods, Apple Watches, Dyson Vacuums, 4k TVs, Surface Pro laptops, and a whole lot more. Tip: Bookmark this page for easy access to the best Black Friday electronic deals. We’ll be updating this story frequently with the newest products on sale.

Thanks to the global pandemic and shifting consumer spending patterns, big box retailers have gone all-in on Black Friday this year with many stores starting sales as soon as Amazon’s Prime Day event ended in October. Any deal where the product is over 30% off is considered a good deal, since the average discount during this shopping period is around 37% off. Anything near that discount (or higher) is probably going to be the cheapest price you’ll see for the next year.

That’s not all; brands are hosting their own Black Friday sales as well. While it’s true that not every brand will cut prices. Apple, for example, notoriously doesn’t offer much in the way of discounts at its own online store, but will offer a $150 gift card with qualifying purchases this year. You will be able to find great deals at many others, including Dyson and Samsung. Scroll below for a rundown of our favorite Black Friday tech deals so far, broken down into the following categories:

Will out of stock items be replaced for Cyber Monday?

Although there’s no guarantee, in past years retailers have held back some stock on electronics and other items in order to spread out the share available over the two major shopping holidays. If something is currently out of stock, check back in on Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Will brick-and-mortar stores be open on Thanksgiving?

For the most part, no. In years past, lines of shoppers started forming at big box stores right after the big turkey dinner to claim doorbuster deals on TVs and laptops. This year, though, due to social distancing and changing retail buying habits, many retailers have announced they will close on Thanksgiving and not open for Black Friday until Friday morning. Best Buy, for example, will close Wednesday night and re-open most locations at 5 a.m. local time on Friday, November 27. (Local laws and regulations may affect the opening time at some locations.)

How much should I expect to save this Cyber Week?

The average savings from Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales is around 37%, according to SpendMeNot. Any prices slashed to around this percent (or greater) are considered to be great deals that you should take advantage of while they last. These are usually the lowest prices you’ll see all year.

Should I wait until Cyber Monday to buy electronics?

Cyber Monday—the Monday following Black Friday—is a recent innovation in the history of holiday sales. Originally intended to be an online-only sale in contrast to the in-store savings of Black Friday, it also had a reputation for focusing on electronics. But in recent years, Black Friday has become an online sale as well, blurring the distinction between the two sales.

And this year, the difference between the sales, especially for electronics, will be marginal at best. Most retailers are treating much of the month of November as one long sale that includes deep discounts on all kinds of electronics, like TVs, computers, phones, video games and appliances. There is unlikely to be much difference in the kinds of deals we’ll see on November 30 compared to November 27 or earlier in the month. So if you see a good sale, you should take it—waiting is unlikely to lead to bigger savings.

Will there be discounts on video game consoles on Black Friday?

If you’re hoping to score big savings on a new console this year, you’re probably in for disappointment. With Sony and Microsoft having just released the new PS5 and Xbox One Series X/Series S consoles last week and inventory sold out everywhere, retailers have no incentive whatsoever to offer consoles at discounted prices. So don’t expect to see any discounts on flagship consoles until this time next year.

One exception: Expect to see some discounts on Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite consoles. Last year, Nintendo surprised everyone with some attractively priced discounts and bundles, and it appears to be happening again. Already, Nintendo has announced a Switch bundle that combines a Switch console, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and three months of Switch Online Membership, all for the regular list price of $300. That’s a good deal, especially when you consider the fact that Switch consoles have been sold out through most of 2020, so there is still a huge demand for the game system.

How do I know if I’m getting a good deal on electronics on Black Friday?

While we strive to tell you about the best prices in articles like this one, you may also want to do your own comparison shopping. Never assume that a given retailer is the only one offering the product at that price, or even that it’s the best price.

You have a few tools at your disposal. If you’re shopping at Amazon, for example, you can use the whimsically named website CamelCamelCamel to compare the current price to historical values and the all-time low price to assess if the sale is a good deal. In addition, you can add popular plug-ins (like PopcartHoney and PriceBlink) to your web browser. These can help you compare prices among multiple sites to see where something is cheapest.
