I don't really take the game super seriously, and just play with my brother and friend in customs pretty much exclusively. I don't really know a ton about which types of units are good against which kinds, and who I'm expecting to fight beforehand so I'm not sure what kind of army composition to build. I'd like a civilization with a jack of all trades sort of military where just a few certain units are enough to decently handle whatever I may end up fighting. Which might that be, if any?
About AOE3 Game Politics becoming Real Politics:
If they have opinions of what America should be doing, then they should have the legal right to be drafted into the American Army. That's what it means to be a Citizen: having rights and obligations.
The one with two sea trading routes. Can't find it.
What’s with all the Mahout hate? 3 Mahout/ 2 Mahout cards have been a life saver for my timing push running a semi ff. Once their buff card comes in they are a real problem for anything on 2 feet not in a mass. Even if I’m pushed first, popping them with 10 sentries is usually more than enough to fend off a raid. Have they been buffed from 2 years ago when there was many posts shitting on them?
I feel like they just die to everything, even what they're meant to counter like musketeers.
I've looked at the poison damage and even with curare it barely does anything. Does it stack? 1 dmg per second for 4 seconds doesn't seem any good. Am I using it correctly?
I love all the native civs, but I have trouble with Inca. Any tips on 'em are welcomed, especially for 1v1.
Thank you for your answers.
Jeeesus it's my fifth consecutive game against an Otto player on a fast Hungary revolution, packed with towers in his base and then spamming Magyar hussars.
Really boys, it's getting annoying
Hey there everyone!
I just picked up the gamez im a huge aoe2 fan, which i played with my grandpa so much.
I used to love the mongols as a tribe, because they had the best ranged cavalry units.
But starting out in aoe3, im not sure which civilisation suits my playstyle.
I like to rush, but not to destroy the enemy but to bother them and force their villagers to die or retreat, just stopping their economy while i try to scale them off.
I wonder which civ suits this rushing cavalry playstyle?
Thanks for reading!
Hey guys I wanted to play Age of Empires again after like ten years pause Unfortunately, I can't install it on my new Win 10 PC. First CD works, but when I insert the second disk the process stops at the file "sound.bar" Is this a common problem? Way to fix it? Is it because of the CD or my computer? I wouldn't mind buying the game again if I knew that'll fix it Thanks in advance for your help:)
friend wants to play this shit. how to win? he usually just turtles and build big navy to prevent me from ever being able to attack him on land

Confess your reasons here for why you originally played aoe3:
Why I used to play this game and why I developed my mods:
For I knew it was the case that they were Pharisees and needed to be Civilized and Christianized, so that they could have no enjoyment in the games that they played with their Overpowered Civs!
I am a casual player, (max elo1100) usually playing with my friends with around same elo. And last few weeks I noticed weird thing happening like getting butchered by random players with 900 elo. Who somehow know how to tp villagers and maneuver 3 different unit types with less than 100 games (??)
So I didn't want to cry how they are smurfs I said to myself git gud!
I recorded few games got a bit better...
And last night 3 of us got matched with 3 dudes:
Dude1: team elo 1712 Dude2: team elo 1400 Dude3: team elo 2123
Like WTF??
This really killed the mood and we really think on abandoning the game. I can't invest more time into learning more I just wanna play with people that are as good/bad as me (ranking system purpose??).
Just saw () and I got curious: is that something he was doing in an Editor, or were Portugal (post-Brazil Revolution) actually able to order an infinite supply of +2 Town Center Shipments until someone on the Dev team noticed that Feitorias turned this into an infinite resource mechanic? I can't imagine it was deliberate, or actually a good strategy in non-Treaty 60 games, but was this actually a thing you could do at some point?
I'm relatively new to this game, and started off playing as China. I've got a couple of other friends who play and we all do team games, us vs. AI set to hard.
Every time we play I feel guilty because I don't really have that much to contribute to defending or attacking the enemy, and I can never get my bearings on resources until atleast the third age, and at that point it becomes either a half an hour slog of me upgrading and hoping none of the AI's flatten me, or I throw armies at the AI that can do nothing to them.
How can I contribute to my team better? If it helps any, I've been using the Beginner deck for most of my games that I've had.
And don’t tell me cav. It doesn’t work
The Mexico card guerilla tactics has recently not been working on my Soldados. What’s going on? I know for a fact that this card use to affect them. Whas this a hidden nerf. Please help and don’t be mean redditors be nice redditors 😊 , I have physically abusive parents and already get enough of that already.
Hey y'all, So I've been playing USA for some time now and I don't know the optimal build order for a team play. I usually get trampled by Japanese or Indian rush early in the game. I've watched some youtube videos but they were so long ago like when french immigrants were at 200 wood instead of having to chop down additional 25 presently.
The only way out I find to avoid getting rushed is by getting virginia (2 free shipments - SM, Regulars) or penn (SM, hussar). Other than that, once I reach age 3 USA is unstoppable with the gatling guns, uhlan shipment and free arsenals. The 8-16 mins period in the game is where I lag.
Literally every player in this clan is a top 50 player. How many member does this clan have? It might be the same 3 or 4 guys with 76 different accounts.
Hi I'm a Japanese player Elo around 1000, I can have a good start and hold most of the rushes, I even can boom very quickly to age3, however I always struggle with late games 15min+, as my eco doesn't keep up as others… I feel having bit difficult transitioning from natural resources to farms, feels like the collection always drop considerably even with a good amount of bills... What is the JP strategy to keep up the kate game?
