Antonio Banderas, 59, poses with girlfriend Nicole Kimpel, 38, and his daughter Stella, 23, on the Oscars red carpet

Antonio Banderas proved he was still every inch the Hollywood hunk at 59 on the Oscars red carpet at Hollywood and Highland this Sunday.

The dashing movie star posed up a storm with his 38-year-old Dutch girlfriend Nicole Kimpel and his 23-year-old daughter Stella from a previous marriage.

He is nominated for best actor in a leading role Sunday for his new movie Pain And Glory, which is also competing for best international feature.

Antonio stuck to classical chic in a black suit and matching bow tie, jazzing it up by wearing a glittering diamond star brooch in his lapel.

Meanwhile, his investment banker girlfriend showed off her cleavage in a plunging white gown that featured a thigh-slit up the middle.

Stella, who is Antonio's daughter by his second ex-wife Melanie Griffith, was a knockout in a color block black and red gown.

Antonio spoke to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet about Pain And Glory, whose director Pedro Almodovar made him a star in Spain.

While chatting with Ryan he recalled that Pedro has 'directed me in eight occasions' and reflected on being nominated for Pain And Glory.

The movie is significant because he is 'nominated for speaking my own language, doing the movie in Spain,' where he was born.

His category also included Joaquin Phoenix for Joker, a performance that has won him the BAFTA, the Golden Globe and the SAG this year.

'I think that we all know what is gonna happen tonight,' Antonio wryly told Variety while being interviewed on the red carpet.

His prediction was proven correct as Joaquin did win for Joker that evening, presented with the award by Olivia Colman.

Pain And Glory is also up for best international feature in a competitive category that also includes the acclaimed South Korean thriller Parasite.

If Antonio wins best actor he will become only the second man to win the prize in a foreign language, after Roberto Benigni in the 1997 Italian film Life Is Beautiful.

Best supporting actor has gone to other foreign language performances however, including Robert De Niro in Italian for The Godfather Part II.
