Romantic black and white photography. Tom Waits certainly is a great model, inventive, creative, a unique character . The collection of B&W photographic works gives the feeling of candid, unrehearsed, and unedited raw documentary of Tom Waits' artistic talent. Having tried for years to learn art of photography, I can only admire Corbjin's talent and knowledge of camera, seeming ease with which he presents a unique artist true to his artistic persona.

金額的に安くないため、購入をほんの一時期ためらっていましたが、20年以上トムを大好きでい続けた自分へのご褒美（？）として購入しました。（注文時の価格20,670円）

結果、買ってよかったと心から思います。その辺の写真集とは比較になりません。装丁といい、そこに収められた写真数、そしてその内容といい、最高の一言です。

印象としては意外と近年（1999年〜）の作品が多いですが、チャック・E・ワイスと並んで撮られた1枚やトロピカーナ・モーテルでポーズを決めるトムなど、古参ファンにも嬉しい70's〜80'sの写真もなかなか充実しています。中には有名な写真も散見され、「これアントン・コービンの写真だったんだなぁ」という新鮮な感動もありました。トム自身が撮影したと思われる写真や絵なども多数収録されています。

トム・ウェイツのファンを自認する方は、何はともあれ一度は手に取るべきだと思います。そして静かな夜に、自分が一番好きなトムのアルバムを聴きながらゆっくりとページを繰ってみて下さい。

その時は是非、いつもより少し強いお酒を片手に。。。
