Rebekah P It's all right. I read the book when it came out, and that was incredible. This couldn't quite match it, but it's beautiful, well-done on every level, and I did enjoy it. There were some decisions that confused me, though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Marcel d This had so much potential! I adored the book and I really hoped that this would do it justice. It entirely misses the point of the book and makes it a special effects experiment. Not worth the ending. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Al B A24….enough said. You want to check out this film 100%. A riddle wrapped in a mystery wrapped in brilliant characters and film making. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review Alec C It is the time of annihilation, in a shimmering and multi-colored doom! As a scientist joins a group of soldiers to investigate what happened to her husband inside of a strange phenomenon that is mutating everything it touches, she and the explorers slowly start to succumb to the strangeness as well. Disturbingly poignant and oddly mesmerizing, this unique sci-fi thriller manages to leave us with questions then answers! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Nick M One of my top suggested thought-provoking Sci-Fi thrillers. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/27/24 Full Review Justin T This is rather beautiful boredom. The core story, production design and the cinematography are excellent. The film is so slow that even at 1.25x it is so slow and so boring that it is more pretentious than entertaining. It is very well acted but their characters are a bit forgettable although nothing too much to complain about. Sometimes, even before the main story kicks off, the film looked fake. As in, actual physical things like houses and rooms looked like they were CGI when there really was no reason for it. When the story really kicks off it doesn't matter at all that it looks CGI and fantastical. There are some really beautiful moments but not enough to get over how slow it is. Some moments go on so long, so very very long with nothing happening. The visual effects are great and so is the music. Sadly overall because it is so arduously slow it should be compared to Contact (1997) and not Dredd (2012). Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
