After her Pratt split, Faris previously said she wasn't sure if she'd tie the knot ever again. She admitted on celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser's Divorce Sucks! podcast, "I will say I believe in love and monogamy and I believe in the commitment with a relationship. But I do struggle, having gone through it a couple of times now, Laura, with the idea of our legal system. I struggle with that on kind of a feminist level."

Why did Anna Faris get divorced?

Faris hasn't spoken at length about her first marriage, but hinted on her podcast that she simply got married too young when she and Indra wed. "I don't know if it's too grumpy and cruel to say in a sense but if I could tell my 8-year-old son one thing that maybe he would stick to, I would really encourage him to not get married in his 20s," she said. She was around 28 years old the first time she walked down the aisle.

She also admitted on a May 2021 episode of her podcast that her divorces from Indra and Pratt were each almost inevitable.

"For me, I think after every breakup, at some point I realize that there were a lot of things I ignored that I really shouldn't have," she said. "In hindsight, it felt like my hand was forced. I don't think it was ever an independent decision." She also told a caller who considered calling off her engagement, "I really feel like calling off an engagement is a smarter, stronger, braver move than what I did. Which was like, 'Well, I guess everyone is expecting this, so let's just go through with it.'"

Faris admitted that her marriages to the two actors were likely complicated by a sense of competition.

"My two other marriages were with actors and I don't think we did a great job of eliminating competitiveness," she said in a March 2021 episode of Unqualified. "Or at least I didn't, being a proud person, and not wanting to reveal vulnerability. Any hint of competitiveness and comparison, I didn't handle that very well, I don't think," Faris added. "And I hope I've grown from that."
