Anja Savcic got her start playing MK in 2007's short-lived Bionic Woman series and since then, she has steadily worked in more and more notable shows and movies. In 2024, she co-starred in Peter Farrelly's Amazon Prime Video comedy, Ricky Stanicky, adding a major studio comedy role to an already impressive stable of performances. After her role in Bionic Woman, Savcic spent her early career primarily appearing in smaller TV, TV movie, and independent film roles. While these performances were indicators of the clear natural talent she has, they were not substantial showcases of her range.

It was not until 2017, when she appeared in the main cast of Loudermilk, that wider audiences had their first introduction to the well-rounded actor. Successive performances in Big Sky, Nancy Drew, and Ricky Stanicky have revealed Savcic's comfort in a variety of roles, from straight comedy to serious drama and even to horror. It's still early days for the young actor, but the late 2010s and 2020s have provided her with a bedrock of memorable roles in television and movies that should propel her into a long career.

10 Ms. Match (2023)

Savcic Plays Athena Carter

Ms. Match is a made-for-TV original movie from E!. Savcic stars as Athena Carter, a young woman who moves to LA to jumpstart her writing career for a dating website that sees her using her many dates as sources for stories. It's a bit of a choppy script with some of the expected issues that would come from a lower budget made-for-TV movie, but this is one of Savcic's first starring movie roles, and she's a competent lead, capable of handling both the comedic and romantic in equal measure.

9 Sacred Lies (2018-2020)

Savcic Plays Olivia Bly (3 Episodes, 2018)

Anja Savcic appears as recurring character Olivia Bly in season 1 of Sacred Lies. The show follows a teenager with no hands, played by Elena Kampouris, who is sent to juvenile detention when she's suspected of murdering her former cult leader. A pregnant Olivia gets wrapped up in the machinations of the cult when her husband demands they join. Her concerns about giving birth outside a hospital prove correct when she dies in the process, though her daughter, Constance, survives. Savcic's portrayal of a cornered and terrified young woman is heartbreaking and affecting despite only appearing in three episodes.

8 The Magicians (2015-2020)

Anja Savcic Plays Skye (3 Episodes, 2018)

The Magicians is a Syfy fantasy series that manages to be different from other shows in the genre thanks to its intelligent storytelling and well-explained magical system. Savcic plays Skye, a recurring character in season 3, and an enslaved fairy being used as a housekeeper and source of fairy dust. Skye is a timid creature, full of self-doubt after years of imprisonment. Savcic imbues the character with pathos and sadness that makes her years of torment feel lived in. She only appears in three episodes, but Savcic leaves an impression.

7 Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (2016-2017)

Anja Savcic Plays Litzibitz Trost (3 Episodes, 2017)

In Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Savcic plays Litzibitz Trost, a recurring and critical character in season 2. The science fiction show follows the eponymous Dirk Gently (Samuel Barnett) who believes himself to be a "holistic detective", that is, one who explores small cases to uncover larger conspiracies.

Season 2 finds Litzibitz trying to keep the peace between her family and the Dengdamors but is killed for her efforts. While not a major character, only appearing in three episodes, her death and resurrection are crucial to the storyline and Savcic is appropriately charismatic, strong-minded, and bold enough to carry the heaviest beats of the plot.

6 Creepshow (2019-Present)

Anja Savcic Plays Angela (1 Episode, 2023)

The rebooted horror series Creepshow is a television follow-up to the original 1982 anthology. Another anthology, Creepshow has featured plenty of guest stars since its premiere in 2019. Anja Savcic stars in season 4, episode 5, segment 2, "Doodles", where she plays a cartoonist named Angela. Angela discovers that she is able to murder people through her drawings and uses the skill to bloody effect.

It's an equal parts humorous and disturbing performance from Savcic. It's not easy to depict a full story arc in only 22–23 minutes, but Savcic creates a realized character with a believable emotional arc in that time, going from shocked and fearful to conniving and sinister.

5 Incontrol (2017)

Anja Savcic Plays Samantha

Savcic never really had a starring role in a feature film until 2017's sci-fi thriller, Incontrol. The film follows four university students who manage to create a machine that allows them to become their wealthy schoolmates. Samantha is the most enthralled by the machine, and she begins to overuse it for selfish gain. Savcic is both distressing as a young woman who has had more than her fair share of struggles and alarming as someone who has found the key to a new life in this role. It's an important balancing act that makes Samantha simultaneously pitiable and detestable.

4 Nancy Drew (2019-2023)

Anja Savcic Pays Odette Lamar (8 Episodes, 2023)

Odette Lamar, formerly known as Aglaeca, is a recurring supernatural villain in the 2019 CW TV series, Nancy Drew. Odette was once a French heiress who was murdered by those seeking her wealth. She became a vengeful sea spirit whom Nancy Drew (Kennedy McMann) manages to turn back into a human so she can finally rest. Savcic plays Odette in her human form, portraying her as a stately, regal lady. In this form, before the spirit possesses another character, Odette is quiet and unnerving, the character making excellent use of Savcic's ability to play cold and impersonal.

3 Ricky Stanicky (2024)

Anja Savcic Plays Susan

The 2024 comedy Ricky Stanicky, directed by one-half of the Farrelly brothers duo, Peter, stars Zac Efron, John Cena, Jermaine Fowler, and Andrew Santino. Ricky Stanicky is the name of an imaginary friend that Dean (Efron), Wes (Fowler), and JT (Santino) have used to get out of problems their whole lives. When JT's wife Susan (Anja Savcic) goes into premature labor, the friends hire an actor (Cena) to play Ricky Stanicky and cover their tracks.

The film is a mixed bag of juvenile humor and rehashed jokes from Farrelly's earlier work, but Susan is not among the problems of the film. Savcic is winning as the troublemaking JT's beleaguered wife, and she fits in easily with any comic sequence, no matter how crude. She's able to confidently play off veteran comedy actors Cena and Efron very well.

2 Big Sky (2020-2023)

Anja Savcic Plays Scarlet Leyendecker (25 Episodes, 2021-2022)

Big Sky is a 2021 TV crime drama that follows ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) and private detective Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) as they solve crimes in Montana. Anja Savcic plays Scarlet Leyendecker, a recurring character in season 1 who is moved to the main cast for season 2. Ronald Pergman's (Brian Geraghty) lover, Scarlet, is a complicated character who has to balance her criminal associations with her duties as a mother.

It's an intense, complex, and physical performance from Savcic and one of her most conniving characters. Savcic has yet to play a full-on villain, but Big Sky, along with some earlier roles, has shown how adept she is at portraying criminals.
