Would you be happy to give up a home fixture for more money? - Knees up Mother Brown Forum:
All more money means is higher wages and transfer fees for players, with agents taking their cut. The premier league can already bully other leagues financially, so what is there really to gain.
How about we just keep our principles, fortunately the fans have shown their teeth once with the European Super League protests and I expect they will again if required.
To put it simply the yanks can f*** off if they want prem games played anywhere but England (and Wales).
The PL is already far and away the richest league with a much higher wage bill than any other Euro league. Is it never enough? Milking it for all it’s worth and as has been said it will only lead to more inflated wages and fees
It’s still gross but I can sort of understand La Liga doing it. The idiot who’s running it is on a misguided mission to try to compete financially with the PL rather than focusing on what makes Spain unique

not sure that's the only reason, I think I read that he's being investigated for taking a bung from the Arabs to move the games.
No but I can see it happening in the same way NFL, baseball, and wrestling all take place in London and not in the States. No doubt UEFA will also pimp out European games to Saudi at some point too - as sadly money talks.
Also who’s to say it wouldn’t be West Ham vs Tottenham/Chelsea/Arsenal - a game none of us would want to miss.
A different way perhaps to the pose the question though, if the league committed to freezing season ticket prices (well actually reducing them slightly if a home game a season was lost abroad) for X years, because of the extra revenue - would that be less problematic?
It’s unlikely that would be the case, as sadly again, money talks.
There is something about this very american brand of corporate colonialism that makes my stomach crawl. They don't just see the stodgy financial inefficiencies of age old culture and tradition as an inconvenience, but an affront to the natural order.
No, just no.
The Yanks can see the usual suspects dragging themselves across the States pre season ( just before they start complaing about fixture congestion) if they want to watch Yanited Citeh Red Scouse or Chelski live.
I'm not in the TV biz, but I don't see why NBC/Peacock would pay more for games to be played in the states.
Some of the clubs might make more money from ticket sales, but MLS stadiums are smaller than premier league stadiums (in KC the capacity is 18k). NFL stadiums have much larger capacities, but why would they want to hold premier league games there? For example the Chiefs stadium sells out every game (75k+) with the cheapest tickets at $100+.
I don't see it either as they pay through the nose as is..
however, it "could" be a bone that gets thrown to them.
as you more than likely know, they have these "fan fests" and they are enormously popular.
I can't imagine that the NFL gets any more from the tv contract from games in the UK and Germany.
"taking the game to the masses" more than likely.........
the NFL is already huge in the UK. baseball ditto in Mexico. NBA pretty much worldwide as loads of European players are now in the NBA anyway......
saw where the guys who have invested in Wrexham are now into ownership with Necaxa in the Mexican league. from what I read the Liga Mex was the highest watched league in the U.S. but now it;s the PL with Liga Mex now in second place. above the MLS but that's pretty understandable....

It’s already happened in La Liga, they’ve had El Classicos and Spanish Super Cup games in the US and Saudi.
Pretty astonishing really when they cancelled Cup replays only a few weeks ago claiming the schedule is already too congested.
the El Classico was a preseason thing and the guy that moved Copa Del Rey to Saudi, is getting investigated for taking a bung for doing so.... at least that's what I remember reading just a week back....
