The Andrew Jackson Hotel delights many with its charming, historic ambiance and a lovely courtyard, though some feel parts of it are slightly outdated. Staff often receive accolades for their friendliness, yet there are occasional lapses in service consistency. Room experiences vary, with cozy, clean spaces for some and maintenance or cleanliness issues for others. Its central location in the French Quarter is a highlight for guests. However, concerns over hidden costs and parking fees have impacted the perceived value.

I think this hotel may have been an amazing place to stay once. It has so much going for it with it's unique history, amazing location, and friendly staff. Unfortunately, I suspect this little gem has run afoul of its cost saving corporate overlords. There is no breakfast, although it is still advertised, and even though we stayed there for five days we did not get maid service once. I know there have been cut backs due to covid but the place is just dirty. Even at the height of covid you could get fresh towels and your trash removed. If you can't provide the advertised breakfast, how about a sealed bottle of water? Covid is pretty much over and no one is wearing masks so do I really have to take out my own garbage and bribe the front desk guy for clean towels? For the price you pay to stay here, clean floors and sheets should be a minimum standard.

You should also know this is an old historic building so it is not accessible and it is loud. You can hear people blow their nose in the room next to you. This was not an issue for me, as the history of the place was worth that inconvenience and I have ear plugs. However, as with so many things now days, you will not get what is advertised or what you pay for here. It's a shame.

Dude, Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. I really appreciate the nice words about our staff, we love serving our guests. Our hotel is proudly locally owned and we stayed open during Covid (the two neighboring hotels are still closed). We let all of guest know at checkin that we have very limited housekeeping services and that fresh towels are available at our 24 hour front desk, I am sorry if we were not the style of hotel you were looking for on your trip to NOLA!

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the hotel. I booked a small room and asked if I could buy a balcony room and they said it was sold out. No worries, I loved sitting in the back courtyard with friends. We hung out and the staff helped us find restaurants that were open to eat dinner. We loved Willis at the front desk. I am not liking the plexiglas I am seeing in New Orleans, even at the reception desk. the lobby had a sanitizer as big as a table, lol!

Good spot, clean room and coffee house a block away

We stayed here with our kids (ages 13 and 9) the weekend before Mardi Gras. It was quiet and cozy, perfectly situated in the French Quarter so we were able to walk everywhere we wanted. The beds were very comfortable, I slept with my daughter and could not even tell she was in there with me! The breakfast was superb - hot chicory coffee (or decaf, tea, or hot chocolate), and warm croissants with butter and strawberry preserves. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (William in particular was such a treat!). We stayed in room 110, it's separate from the main building and felt as though we had a private bungalow. It is an old, old property, and therefore will never be sparkling clean. However, our only concern was the amount of dust and dirt on the floors. We had to wear socks until we were ready to go to sleep, then we'd take them off and immediately get into bed.

Had the utmost experience via a “staycation” here at the Andrew Jackson hotel. I’m local, I rarely venture into the French Quarter, but with the ongoing pandemic, I felt cabin feverish and found an excellent price on this hotel, so I thought Why not? I grew up on this History of this landmark and developed a passion for ghosts, as most New Orleanians do, and so was looking forward to being wow’d, and this place delivered! The location is probably the best thing about it, as it’s close enough to everything tourists would love (Bourbon Street) but just far enough away from everything locals try to escape (also Bourbon Street). Its location is on a quieter strip, right across from Cafe Amelie, another fantastic reason to stay here! While the hotel is definitely showing its age, for us, that’s what gives it its charm and possible ghostly activity, so that was more than acceptable. It was still clean, beds were comfy and the front desk was pleasant and friendly and more than accommodating-which is all we could ever ask for. The courtyard out back provided the nicest oasis for us to imbibe in copious amounts of champagne. While the age of the hotel made it a little easier for us to hear everything that was going on above us or beside us, the noise never got out of hand and it was a minor inconvenience. We’re not even convinced that it wasn’t partly thanks to some paranormal activity ;) This hotel was such a welcomed “getaway,” we’ve already looked into booking another staycation for the s

Perfectly located in the French Quarter, close to great eating, music and shops, this was a wonderful hotel experience. The staff were so friendly and helpful, including bringing us free croissants and coffee every morning on a silver tray, the room was comfy and spacious with a balcony overlooking Royal Street. Loved everything about it!

I stayed here three nights with my friend and we were terribly disappointed. To begin with, there was no hot water. We told the staff twice and nothing was done. We were told that it’s an old hotel and it’s to be expected. They do not replace your towels. When we asked at the desk, they told us to leave our towels outside the door and they would take them away and give us new ones…that never happened. They also said they would refill the coffee packets and they never did. In addition, there were cobwebs and the ceiling has cracks to the point that it looks like that part of the ceiling is going to fall down. I have attached pictures. On the website it says that there is breakfast in the morning, but there wasn’t any. And, the distance between the toilet and the sink is so small that an average size person would have a difficult time using the facilities. It is rare that someone is sitting at the desk and the front door is always unlocked. The most frustrating thing was that they were not concerned at all about our comfort.

Yi787QT, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I sincerely apologize about the issues you experienced during your stay, it is not the standard that we practice. We are looking into the issue with the water. We generally peide ourselves on our customer service, I am so sorry that you did not get to experience it. Our hotel is small and our front desk does multi- task and they do leave the front desk, that is why we offer a phone on the desk that rings to a cordless phon, so we can always service our guests needs.

Our room was really dirty. The bottom of my feet were black from how dirty the floors were. Also, the older gentleman who works in the evening was so rude. I asked for an extra blanket as a cold front had blown through and he scolded me for even asking for such a thing. One, it's a king size bed/balcony room, it should come with more than four twin size old pillows. There was not a heavy blanket on the bed. Just sheets. It really doesn't take much to make the stay really nice with good linens and bedding. Or at the very least, kindness.

Do not stay at this hotel!!!
If you have low expectations lower them, the hotel has loads of character but is also in need of a lot of attention it’s not only run down it was also very dirty. We had to ask for clean towels and for our room to be serviced (it was done once in 5 days) it also has no breakfast or beverage. It does have an ice machine & cold water dispenser.
The red headed guy on reception was over friendly and wasn’t always forthcoming with the truth. We had an email to ask if we wanted to extend our stay at a discount, we didn’t want to extend but asked if we could come the day before. After checking the system Adam said he could not only extend the stay he would upgrade us at no extra cost. Thinking this was probably too good to be true we agreed but said we would call back the next day to confirm and check if there was to be any additional charges. Which we did and was told our balance was still $0 has we had paid in full prior to our stay. Only to find out after a couple of days into our stay we had been charged $457 for the extra night, & we only paid $614 for 4 nights. has for the upgrade the room was very small and unkept if this was an upgrade I would hate to see a basic room.
Also keep a regular check on your bank details several hundred dollars unauthorized payments was taken from the account during our stay. Most of that was returned however there are hidden charges that we weren’t aware of.
Finally if you have a complaint unless it’s resolved at the hotel before departure it’s impossible to get any resolution.

Our stay at the Andrew Jackson was absolutely fabulous. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and we loved our room, the air condition, and the quality of the hotel itself. We initially weren’t going to book this location, as my girlfriend is terrified of anything paranormal, but I won her over and we booked our room for a five night stay. It was fun seeing the ghost tour groups stop out front periodically as we went to and fro from the hotel and we chatted with them briefly about our own experiences with some strange goings on that may have happened during our stay. It was a great experience and I would recommend this hotel to any interested parties. Check in and check out we’re very easy and straightforward, and the gentleman at the front desk even arranged a cab for us a few hours in advance so we could enjoy our last morning in the French Quarter. Big shout out to the staff of the Andrew Jackson; it’s a lovely hotel with a lot of character and a lot of history.

Stayed there for two nights. Pictures of rooms must be very old, all furniture and interior was very old and worn out. When taking a shower the tub and the shower had water pouring out. Mattress' springs were bad every time you moved it made noise. Needs maintenance on everything. I understand that the building is historical but please maintain it for it can be around for many more years. The only real good I can say is the staff, they were friendly and helpful.

No croissants. Nothing to eat at all. Coffee is out usually by 7:30 so if you are an early riser there is a coffee shop a stones throw away that was our go to, followed by a morning stroll at the river to start our day.
