What travelers are saying
- ChalkyDogRedditch, UK266 contributionsSpent a week in Andorra and 6 days snowboarding in the area of Grandvalira.
On the website GV boasts over 300km of skiing area. Unfortunately there was several areas where snow level was low and some areas not so low but the pistes were still closed. Having said that, we still managed to cover nearly 200km during the week and still never got to cover the areas that was open.
We had a great week and the varied runs made the trip even better. A great resort area and I would recommend to any snowboarder.
Apart from the standard groomed piste's we also went off-piste a few times. It has lots of off -piste areas.Written March 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you go mid week and out of the busy season the slopes and lifts are very quiet, hardly any queues for lifts! Lift pass enables you to travel right across the resort so there is no shortage of slopes to try. The skiing/boarding is not France or Switzerland but neither are the prices and it’s good enough for most.Written October 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alan FSouthampton, UK115 contributionsIt was well worth making the time to take a tour around this historic building. Until quite recently it was the seat of government in Andorra (a new building was constructed next door in 2011). Make sure to check when it is open for visitors (closed on Sundays and Mondays).Written June 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - redhead_roamingSeattle, WA2,919 contributionsWe didn't have much of a chance to plan a trip here so we kinda winged it as we went along. My husband knew he wanted to come up here and see this area of the country and do some small hikes. So while the grandparents watched the kids while they napped, we headed up here.
We drove up around 5pm on May 26th, 2022 (a Thursday). We initially parked & hiked by Ctra. Vella/Ctra. d'Arcalís but didn't really get a great sense that we were in the right spot. So we hiked back and got in the car and continued driving up. We ended up parking right by Restaurant la Borda de la Coma and hiking, I believe, part of the Sender dels Estanys de Tristaina or possibly Font de l'estany de Tristaina. This was around 5:15/20pm and it was cloudy but still very bright outside.
There was also plenty of snow, though. We were very warm from the hike but weren't flush with time or daylight and while not a lot, there was still quite a bit of snow that would have made hiking down to the actual lakes not the most fun. So once we hiked up to the ridge overlooking the lakes, we took pictures, admired the view and then hiked back down towards the car, a couple minutes after 6pm. From the time we parked to the time we got back in our car afterwards, we were gone for about an hour. But if you have more time and/or it's more summer (so less snow), I would highly recommend hiking down to the lakes.Written April 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You may stand on either side of the sculpture to get the desired effect. There are no obstacles around the sculpture. At the back, there is an excellent view of the river that runs through the city with a bridge that has the city's name on it, at the bottom.Written June 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Price is 5€ per person but we went before 10 am and there was nobody there, so we entered for free. Free parking 200m before the entrance. Be careful if you count on Google maps. It's 1 km further than Google's spot.Written April 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Harrison F. CarterCologne, Germany10,878 contributionsIt's a nice little stroll along the quiet country lane, passing lovely buildings and encountering views. - AlbertSalichsManresa, Spain11,600 contributionsTristaina Lake Trail is the trail around the three lakes of Tristaina, which are located near Ordino-Arcalis sky resort, in Andorra, a little country in the middle of Pyrenees. The trekking is wonderful, from Creussans to the first lake (about 30 minutes by walk) and the walk around it and the following two lakes are very beautiful. Really, the best photos, you can see if go up in the surroundings mountains. Amazing place for all family, especially the first lake, which was full of people, when we arrived. The other ones are more quite :-)

So fun to see the irrigation canal alongside the footpath, other than a steep section to get up to the footpath the terrain is flat and paved. Very unique and would recommend!Written April 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- WhatEmmanuelleSeesAndorra la Vella, Andorra1,721 contributionsWe went for an easy peasy stroll at Angolasters Lake in Sunday under stunning blue skies and amazing views all around, the lake is halfway frozen but the 2 hours stroll on flat with a bit of hilly parts was what we needed. Some of us had crampons put on since the some parts of the path were icy due to too many people use the path and parts of the trail are not in the sun. I thought it was it was ok without crampons but best to be safe than sorry.Written December 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
