Childhood and education
Amy grew up in El Paso, raised an only child by her mother Louann Sanders who is a housewife, and her father William Sanders who is a real estate tycoon – Ricke Harlan Feuille, Amy’s grandfather, was a public figure and a well-respected man in Mexico City. Amy attended a high school in El Paso before enrolling at the Williams College in Williamstown in Massachusetts – she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1994.

Amy started off as a teacher in Guatemala, before switching to being a kindergarten teacher at Colegio Americano de Guatemala, where she stayed until 2004 before returning to El Paso to teach. Amy is credited with the launch of La Fe Preparatory School. From 2007 to 2013, Amy worked as a superintendent in La Fe Preparatory, and is currently working for La Fe Community Development Corporation as the director of educational development, After leaving La Fe Preparatory School, she worked as the president of Stanton Street until 2017.

Amy and Beto were both persuaded by their friends to go on a blind date together – they met at the Kentucky Club and began dating in 2003. The two married on 24 September 2005 at a ranch in Lamy, New Mexico, owned by Amy’s parents Louann and William, and they invited only their closest friends and families. Today, the family counts five members as Amy gave birth to their two sons Henry and Ulysses, and daughter Molly – they are all living together in El Paso. Who is Beto O’Rourke?
Robert Francis ‘Beto’ O’Rourke was born in El Paso on 26 September 1972 – his birth sign is Libra, he is of Irish and Welsh descent, and holds American nationality. Beto is a politician who represented Texas’s 16th congressional district in the US House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Beto was raised by his father Pat Francis O’Rourke and his mother Melissa Martha, and has two younger sisters. His mother was the owner of a store selling expensive furniture, while his father was the county commissioner and county judge in El Paso.
Beto fell in love with punk rock at the age of 14 after listening to the “London Calling” album released by The Clash band in 1979; his passion for punk music made him dislike his hometown El Paso, as he saw it as a boring place where nothing much was happening – as he stated ‘There was nothing dangerous. There was no energy. There was no risk.’ He was part of the Cult of the Dead Cow hacking group during his teenage years, and wrote numerous songs and texts for the group, which he grew to regret writing after becoming politically active.
Beto studied at the Escuela Montessori Del Valle preschool, then enrolled at Rivera Elementary School before switching to Mesita Elementary School. He studied at the El Paso High School and then switched to and matriculated from Woodberry Forest School – he began attending Columbia University in 1991, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature in 1995. In the same year, he was arrested on charges of burglary, after he and his friends went through the fence of the University of Texas at El Paso’s physical plant. He was arrested once more on 27 September 1998 after being caught driving under the influence – both the charges were later dropped. He launched his music career while attending college, and his first band was Swipe before he founded his own band, Fitz of Depression.
Beto is good at playing the drums and bass guitar, but stopped focusing on music after becoming involved in politics. He worked numerous jobs before getting into politics – he was an inventory tracker, and in 2000 founded Stanton Street Technology Group software company, for which his father took a loan of $20,000. In the summer of 2005, Beto ran for the El Paso City Council and won 57% to 43% against Anthony Cobos, becoming one of the youngest people who have served on the Council – he won re-elections with a better score of 70% to 30%. Some of his most notable actions include opposing Obama’s deferred action policy in November 2014, and travelling to Israel in 2015 to meet with Palestinian and Israeli political leaders and peace negotiators.

He was a supporter of Hillary Clinton during her candidacy for president, and he himself decided to run for the Senate in 2018, but lost narrowly to Republican Ted Cruz. On 14 March 2019 he announced his candidacy for the 2020 election for President of the US, but dropped out on 1 November 2019.

Amy enjoys watching movies which star Tom Hanks or Angelina Jolie, and her favorites among these are “The Terminal”, “Wanted”, and “Forrest Gump”. She has travelled around the world with her husband, while her favorite place to visit is Paris in France – she has climbed the Eiffel tower, seen the Triumph Gate, and visited every part of the Louvre Museum.
She likes wearing red clothes and is very fond of reading, with her favorite books being “The Alchemist” and “Veronika Decides to Die” written by Paulo Coelho. Her favorite food is continental.
