Amy Robach is reflecting on a year full of ups and downs — but there’s one thing she doesn’t regret.

During Tuesday’s episode of her joint podcast with boyfriend T.J. Holmes, the pair each shared their list of what they learned in 2023.

Holmes, 46, began by noting how they both learned “plenty of lessons” this past year, which saw them leave their GMA3 hosting slots and go public as a couple. But among the lessons that Robach, 50, gained included her desire to not return to a job like her past GMA3 gig.

“I learned that I never want to go back to the grind of morning television,” she admitted. “And I learned that I don't miss the job, I miss the people.”

Holmes, who had co-hosted the morning news segment with Robach since 2020, agreed by saying: “I’m with you there.”

Robach also said that she can “sleep better now” as she’s “living authentically” and advised listeners: “It’s never too late to start again, to start over.”

Since launching their podcast on Dec. 5, the former co-hosts turned couple has given the public the inside scoop on their relationship, which made headlines last year when they were photographed together and their mutual divorces were still fresh. In the debut episode, they made sure to confirm that no infidelity took place in either of their previous marriages — Robach’s to Andrew Shue and Holmes’ to Marilee Fiebig — both of which ended in the summer of 2022.

“We shouldn’t have allowed, [and] I can say that in hindsight, for folks to find out about our relationship before they found out about our divorces,” Holmes admitted. “If people would have heard [about the divorces] earlier [then] ‘they’re in a relationship, now they’re dating,’ maybe an eyebrow would have been raised or something, but it wouldn’t have become what it became.”

Describing their relationship and situation, Holmes called them “the folks who lost the jobs we love because we love each other.” Robach then called her romance with Holmes “the most beautiful relationship I’ve ever had in my life.”

In another recent episode of the podcast, the couple revealed that they had both drafted statements addressing the headlines when news of their relationship first broke, but neither one of them had ever shared the statements.

"My divorce is nearly finalized after we decided to separate. T.J. and I have been friends for years, and our relationship has evolved only in recent weeks," Robach’s statement read. "I ask for privacy for my family as we continue to heal."

In Holmes' statement, he said: "After a month-long separation, I'm in the final stage of my divorce, a process that has been difficult and that my family — for their sake had hoped to keep private. I have leaned on my closest friend during this painful stretch and very recently, that friendship became more. Out of respect for my family, I am requesting privacy at this time."

Hours after the couple’s podcast debuted, news broke that their exes, Shue and Fiebig, were now also dating. They were later spotted together and on the next episode of the former co-anchors' podcast, Robach and Holmes chose to stay mum about the reports, which he said had “agendas.”

“We absolutely anticipated that that was going to happen. There’s nothing we can do about those,” Holmes said, before sharing what he and Robach’s vision is for their new podcast. “But this place, this podcast, this platform is not and will never be … We are committed to a place that this is not gonna be about gossip, this is not gonna be a place where we clap back at headlines.”

Holmes added, “We are not going to get into that back-and-forth game because gossip is toxic.”
