Free-agent former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Amir Garrett agreed to a minor-league deal with the San Francisco Giants with an invitation to spring training, the team announced Wednesday.

Garrett's deal reunites him with former Reds manager Bryan Price, who was named the Giants' pitching coach last November.

Robert Murray reported that the deal would pay Garrett $1.35 million if he reaches the majors.

The left-handed reliever posted a 3.33 ERA and 1.726 WHIP in 24 1/3 innings last season, his second with the Kansas City Royals.

When Garrett was traded in 2022 from the Reds to the Royals for pitcher Mike Minor, Garrett tweeted, "Cincy I love you. Thank you so much."

In 2019, Garrett took on the Pittsburgh dugout during a brawl between the Reds and Pirates.

Garrett made 14 starts as a rookie for the Reds, in addition to 221 relief appearances over five seasons in Cincinnati.
