We took my daughter to NYC for the sole reason to go to The American Girl Store , it was her 10th Birthday Present. We flew in only for the weekend she has been asking to get her ears pierced since she was 3 years old but we wanted her to wait until she was 10. We just spent the entire day on Saturday Feb 29th at the store We shopped , played in the store , ate lunch , Her doll got her hair done , My daughter and the doll got there ears pierced. The lady who pierced my daughters ears measured her ears and dotted them Then when she pierced them she completely missed the marks They are so uneven! It is very noticeable It was the first thing my daughter said when she looked in the mirror My heart was crushed! She was already in pain and then they were uneven It is so disappointing
The only thing we can go is take it out and let it heal but she is so tender right now she doesn’t want me to touch them unless I’m gently cleaning them. I do not recommend going there to get ears pierced Our experience was extremely sad and a huge disappointment for my sweet daughter who has waited so long for that special day The store offered nothing not even an apology , just said oh they look nice honey. We are both so devastated !

The American girl store is INCREDIBLE! I ate at the bistro and it is great for kids and adults. If you have a food allergy they will make changes so you can have the same experience and not miss out. There chocolate Mose flower pot is very good for dessert. The store itself is the best I’ve seen! I love how they have parts interactive for kids of all ages. It is two floors and anyone from the age of 2 - 100 can enjoy this Incredibly amazing store!

Walking around the city and decided to stop in. We had no idea how big this store is. We were checking out the 2023 doll, who is from my hometown. This place is a young girls dream place, as long as Mom and/or Dad have their wallets handy. 2 floors of dolls, accessories and a Cafe.

I've visited the NYC store with nieces in the past, but today I went solo to get two dolls repaired. One went to the doll hospital and one went to the doll salon. Bill at the doll hospital could not have been more helpful and friendly. He was fantastic and so informative. When I went to the doll salon, Daniel was amazing...looking up which doll I had. Apparently it's vintage and worth $$$, who knew? He also was beyond helpful and so upbeat. I asked for "Moe" to do the hair, since she had worked on my niece's doll at the last visit. Whatever American Girl is paying Moe, they should double her pay. She exudes customer service, is so personable, and is hairstylist to the dolls extraordinaire! For someone who has worked there almost 20-years, she's a major star. Thank you Bill, Daniel, and Moe!!!! Each of you were stellar.

My daughter and I visited the American Girl Store in NY last week. It's definitely something you do not want to miss if you have a little girl. The store was bustling with girls and their dolls; it was full of fun. There were outfits and accessories and a salon and hospital. My daughter had been looking forward to this for months and it was everything she had hoped for. She could have spent hours here. We had her ears pierced with her doll. They did an amazing job, making it fun and memorable. Her doll had her hair and nails done... so cute. My daughter loved it. Surprisingly, the salon and ear piercing was not too expensive.

My daughter loved this store and I have to admit that I was impressed too. Salon was reasonable for the services offered. The store was well stocked, even days before Christmas during a pandemic. The staff was helpful in finding us sizes not readily seen on floor. I was impressed with the activities and areas for kids/families too. The basketball hoops, photo op locations, movie playing in one sitting area, etc. There were also restrooms available to customers - which isn’t something you can depend on these days but necessary when traveling with kids. I would have let my daughter pop in while we were in the area previous days of our trip if I knew how nice it was inside.

My daughter had been asking for an American Girl fill for 2 years. Finally got to NYC and took her. It’s a fantastic place and she really enjoyed her time looking around. Only downside $ 120 for a doll! It’s like the Generation dolls in the UK which are no more than £45.
She’s got an American Girl doll now, so I can tick that off my list.

My daughter would give this five stars, for sure. She would have stayed for hours if we'd let her. I thought it was fun -- for about 20 minutes. It's the "mother ship" of American Girl stuff, including a doll beauty salon and a doll hospital. If your child loves American Girl, take them here. And take a book or crossword or something for yourself because you will get bored way before the kids do!

My daughter wanted to go here for her 8th birthday. Amazing experience. Everyone was so nice and helpful. She enjoyed having her dolls ears pierced and the new hospital area. Theres so much to see beyond just shopping

I don’t know where to begin however the experience was nothing short of memorable. Sharon and Brandi went over the top for our daughter turning 6. She love everything about the visit and the personable was they both engaged her and us made us feel right at home. Thank you for the great experience and will be back again for sure!

Hello! If you Google Parking near Rockefeller Plaza, you will find multiple suggestions for parking near Rockefeller Plaza and American Girl. We have entrances on both 51st and 52nd Streets.
Does anyone know how long it would take (about) for a younger girl to go in to get her hair and/or nails done? Or how long it takes to design her own doll? I am trying to make reservations on line for everything and plan out the day and I want to make sure nothing overlaps.

HI, Michelle. Girl hair styling and mini manicure both take about 30 minutes, though the manicure may be started during the hair styling.Reservations are suggested. Allow 50 minutes prior to a cafe reservation.
Reservations are not needed for the Create Your Own experience. Making your choices may take awhile so it's difficult to set a time length.
Visit the Julie Albright doll exhibit. It's fun!

Absolutely!!! Me and my 10 yest old did exactly that... 4 days in a row (to go to the American doll store!!) and there was no reason to feel anything other than totally safe. Enjoy your special time...we had a ball

It depends how much you want to spend. I bought my granddaughter a doll and that was $125.00 on sale. The doll clothes and accessories are around $25 and up. Lunch at the cafe was around $90 for two including tip. If you eat on the cafe make sure you make a reservation. Have fun.

Your daughter's unique creation will be delivered to your home about 2-3 weeks after your visit. We're confident the results will be worth the wait!
