I went to this movie theatre way before rennovation and after this...I refuse to go to any other movie theatre unless they aren't playing the movie I want to see. Why would anyone want to go to a movie theatre that doesn't have red reclining leather seats with LEG ROOM even when your reclining all the way back?! Seriously!!
This place does get packed so remember to buy your tickets earlier in the day so you can pick your seats. We've gone once or twice without buying ahead of time and we had to sit all the way in the front. Usually by the time you want to see your movie, they don't have seats that are together.
This place is pretty clean for the most part. They are smaller theatres but who cares you are relaxing and experiencing luxury while watching a movie. Parking there can be a pain if you park in the lot near by so be there a bit early, but as long as you have reserves your seat, you'll be fine. - Cyndy K.Honolulu, HI3321120447186/12/2013
Cyndy's Bottom Line: the best movie theater ever!
The seats are so comfortable and so relaxing which is so dangerous when trying to watch a movie. The seats are like lazy boy styled chairs which can recline to a lying down position. There is ample room between each row of seats and the sight line is perfect!
There is a convenience fee of $1.25 but it is worth it! - 13634215861/21/2014
Man, did the marketing geniuses of this theater get it right. Older, less-used theater in Court House - "how can we make this theater one that people want to come to now that we have to compete with all these newer, nicer theaters with stadium seats?" Answer: put in the most comfortable, reclining Laz-y-Boys you can find.
The other reviews have got it down - there's not much more than I can add. Sat through the Hobbit in the most comfortable seats EVER - I was practically laying down. My right knee always hurts in theaters, but no problem here!
I honestly don't see myself going to any other theater from now on unless I have a coupon or a really good reason. - 110320611438/16/2015
This movie theater is never crowded, has plush seats that recline, and you can pick your seats online! I love coming here. And it's metro accessible.

If quality theater seating defines a good experience for you, you are at the right place!
5 stars for the amazing red recliners
2 stars for the run down, outdated, old .. everything else
For those bringing in outside food/drink, hide it or finish it prior as you will be told you are not allowed to bring either in. - Molak B.Annandale, VA311112418/1/2013
When was the last time I've ever been ecstatic about a movie venue? It's a been while. I'd say first time stepping into a Hoyts Regal Movie Cinema with the stadium seating. AMC Courthouse had that feel when I realized what this place was about, a step up from your run of the mill theater and a jump into comfort and total relaxation.
If movie theaters were like airlines and we're comparing flying first class versus flying in the luggage storage area, AMC Courthouse is right up there in the first class section. We got to choose what seats to get upon ticket order, nothing new but appreciated. But walking into the theater, it hit me, they had recliners for seats! Comfy, cushy, engulfing, leather recliners complete with reclining headrest and extending leg rest controlled by a little button on the inside armrest. If they gave me a remote to pause the movie and let me undress down to my neon boxer briefs, I'm practically at home! But with a gigantic movie screen!
I applaud you AMC Courthouse. I really don't give a damn how much you charge on food and drinks at this point or if the screen should be bigger because these are the best chairs I've ever sat in at a theater in my whole movie going experience. Hell, they beat the sweat stained sofa I movie watch in at home. These guys had the audacity to put a lazy boy in the theater! There's not much else to say. Oh yeah, there's a Metro stop right outside the building. Ding! Another point. .......A lazy boy! - Jim W.Wilton Manors, FL60303311/28/2016
We went to see Brooklyn at AMC Courthouse Plaza 8. Nice clean theater. Big comfy chairs. Good sound.
We will definitely go back to see another movie. - 308815379511/6/2012
Recently renovated and a top pick for me! It's still a small first run neighborhood movie place, but they've done a nice job in modernizing. My favorite two features are the self serve fancy soda machine that will allow you to customize your drink. You want diet cherry rootbeer, no problem!
Also blown away by their new huge lazyboy electric reclining arm chairs. The place feels more like some rich person's basement now, I like! The only problem is that the chairs are huge so it's hard to cozy up to your neighbor.
Overall though, this place goes from also ran to front runner.

Up until now, I've always had a great experience at Courthouse AMC. It's a great local threatre, and was the first to offer stadium recliner seating. My last couple experiences at AMC were a little shocking though when I walked into the actual movie room, and almost all of the leather chairs were shredding down to the stuffing. A thorough glance proved this was the case for all of them, which would make sense assuming they have the same wear and tear. AMC--please return to the upscale theatre you once were and repair your chairs!

I absolutely love this movie theater. Whenever I choose to go out and see the new movie that's happening, this theater listing is usually the first one I go to for movie times. They don't play every single new movie out there since it is somewhat small, BUT it's definitely worth it when they're showing one you wanna see.
Parking is located in the parking lot right across from the courthouse. It's pretty convenient, but I can imagine that it can get a little hectic during busy times or during work hours when it's full. My advice is to go off peak time when people aren't fighting for spots. Keep in mind, you do have to pay if you see a movie Mon.-Sat. if it's before 6PM. Then after, parking is free.
I've been here several times now and the theater has always been clean to me. The bathrooms are a different story, but the theater is clean and the plush, red leather reclining chairs have always been perfect. They are SO comfy! Seriously, it's like laying back in your own home and there's space between you and your neighbor and say goodbye to having to switch seats to avoid looking over someone else's head. You can sit right up front in the front row and not get a neck cramp. I love it!
