McCoist admits Kensit affair

Soccer pundit Ally McCoist today admitted he had been a "complete fool" over a relationship with actress Patsy Kensit.

The married former Rangers and Scotland star said he now wanted to concentrate on patching things up with his wife Allison and devoting time to their three children.

Three-times divorced Kensit said the "friendship" was over after it was reported they had become increasingly close.

McCoist gave a brief statement today at his country house near Langbank, Glasgow.

He said: "I just want to say I have been a complete fool. The only thing that matters now is Allison and the three boys.

"If it is possible, I would appreciate a little privacy in the hope we could sort this out."

McCoist is a regular on ITV1's soccer highlights show The Premiership and a team captain on A Question Of Sport.

Kensit's manager issued a brief statement on the 33-year-old star.

"Patsy Kensit is entirely focused on her sons and her work, and her friendship with Ally McCoist is over," it said.

Kensit has been married three times to musicians Jim Kerr and Liam Gallagher and has two sons, James and Lennon.

She split from Liam Gallagher - Lennon's father - last year and had previously been married to Simple Minds star Jim Kerr, father of her other son.

Her first marriage was to Dan Donovan, keyboard player with Big Audio Dynamite and the son of photographer Terence Donovan.
