How old is Ally McCoist?

Ally McCoist was born on September 24, 1962 so as of March 2024, the Rangers icon is 61 years old.

He was born in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire which is a town situated 10 miles southeast of Glasgow’s city centre. McCoist was then raised in nearby East Kilbride.

Ally McCoist is married to Vivien Ross after exchanging vows in New York in 2014. The couple met when both were employed by Rangers; Vivien was the club’s commercial manager.

Ally McCoist is Rangers’ all-time record scorer. As per Fitbastats, he scored 362 goals in 585 games for the Ibrox giants across a 15-year spell.

251 goals were scored in the Scottish top-flight while McCoist scored 29 in the Scottish Cup and 54 in the Scottish League Cup, the latter being a competition record.

McCoist holds the record for the most hat-tricks scored at Rangers with 28 and formerly held the record for the most goals scored in Europe for the club. He was surpassed by Alfredo Morelos in 2020 who scored 29 goals across European competitions for Rangers.

Ally McCoist was never appointed permanent captain of Rangers but did wear the armband on a number of occasions when standing in for Richard Gough.
