What's the best version of the Sun Sessions?

// Question

I'm looking to buy a CD of Elvis' Sun Sessions, but I'm unsure of which version. There's a number of different compilations like "The Sun Sessions CD", "Elvis At Sun", "The Sun Sessions", "The Complete Sun Sessions", and so on. A lot of different variatons.

What would you recommend?

The most complete and best preserved/restored is "A Boy From Tupelo". The mainstream Sony released is a slimmed down version of the FTD release (which had a larger book). The only trade-off audio-wise is that you lose an audio interview with Elvis conducted by Heartbreak Hotel songwriter Mae Boren Axton, but the Sony box also gained a then-newly discovered live recording of I Forgot to Remember to Forget. So music-wise, the Sony release is the most complete. There's nothing else music-wise either studio or live that is known to exist from that era that isn't on it.

Will look into "A Boy From Tupelo"!

I think this is the right answer. It has probably the best dynamic range/ sound quality.
