Suspect in deadly Franklin Township shooting arrested

A suspect in a deadly Franklin Township shooting has been arrested and charged with murder.

Ahmed Mohamed Ali, 19, was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

Ali is accused of shooting 19-year-old Mohamed Abdulkadir Suleiman Sunday night in Franklin Township.

Just before 11 p.m. Sunday, Franklin County deputies and officers with the Franklin Township Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of 466 Knob Hill Court West.

Deputies said Suleiman had been shot multiple times in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, detectives found evidence linking Ali to the deadly shooting. They said they believe Ali shot and killed Suleiman while attempting to rob him.

Deputies believe additional suspects may have been involved and are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office detective bureau at 614-525-3351.

Ali is being held in the Franklin County Jail.
