This is a great museum! Name is misleading as one reviewer said it didn't have much to do with Alcatraz and that is true. It is a crime museum. There is a wealth of information and it is so interesting. I would not recommend it for young children. I would say maybe 13 and up as it is all about crime. You can spend hours in there, which we did not expect. We thought an hour or two and we would be done but we were there between 4-5 hours, so allow enough time. I think this museum and the Titanic are the best things to see in the area. Don't miss this one.
The beginning of the experience was interesting but don't think that it had a lot to do with the actual alcatraz prison.
We loved this! They have authentic artifacts and memorabilia! My husband and I enjoyed learning more about our favorite serial killers and others we didn't know about! One of our favorite parts of our honeymoon. Very informational.
This museum has so much stuff in it. Being that it is the items form the Washington DC Crime and Punishment Museum, I expected a lot of high quality exhibits and I was not disappointed in the slightest, The 9/11 exhibit was too hard for me to experience, but the rest of it was great. I will definitely make this a regular place to visit when I am in town.
The museum was cool but extremely expensive to get in. I don't know if it was just me but I felt a little pushed through just because it was so busy and I didn't want to take up too much space for other people. Probably wouldn't go again
My son and nephew spent HOURS reading and looking at every detailed exhibit inside. They had a great time with the VIP experience. The 9/11 exhibit was very nicely done.
