How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Even though I knowingly purchased this cd as used, it was in excellent shape. Includes many of their most popular hits.

Pleasantly surprised by men children tunes. Causes dog howling and episodes of unending flatulence.
Highly recommend. Won't give you oxygen.

The Songs, Performers and More
Reviewed in the United States on 19 April 2009
When Air Supply was at its commercial height, I was just an infant. However, I got bigger, and luckily, several of the duo's hits had that staying power that kept them in regular radio rotation. As I grew past age three, I was treated to gems like "The One That You Love," "Every Woman In the World," "Even the Nights Are Better," "Two Less Lonely People in the World" and especially "(Making Love) Out Of Nothing At All."
Over time, I heard other songs like "All Out of Love," "Now and Forever" and their first hit, "Lost in Love" (along with "I Can Wait Forever," their contribution to the Ghost Busters soundtrack; it can be heard for only five seconds near the beginning of the movie). I also became privy to some of the ridicule over their love-ballad formula that has followed them since their commercial heyday. At the same time, I also felt there was something substantial in the offerings of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock (along with the musicians performing at their side) that hasn't really existed since their best-known period. The Definitive Collection offers an opportunity to partake of that substance.
When I first listened to this compilation, I was first surprised to know that the duo had released twice as many popular songs (albeit internationally) than I'd previously been aware of. Songs like "Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You)," "Sweet Dreams," "Chances," "Taking the Chance" and "Just As I Am" provided a taste of newness that made the aforementioned classics even more enjoyable when put together. Not to mention, the sleeve booklet provides plenty of "inside spin" from Graham and Russell on the production of the eighteen cuts on this package. (Before reading the booklet, I didn't know "Out Of Nothing At All" was written by Jim Steiman and featured Rick Dehringer, Roy Bitten and Max Weinberg; after reading it, the Steiman elements became more recognizable. Also, those female-sounding harmonies on both versions of "Lost in Love" were done by Russell H; I really believed they were female singers.)

This Collection soars!
Reviewed in the United States on 24 August 2006
I had the Definitive Collection years ago until my mom "borrowed" it... she loved it so much that I had to get another copy for myself. It's the ultimate collection of Air Supply's best songs. "Lost In Love" gives me such intense feelings of nostalgia and reminds me of the crush I had on my high school classmate Chip. It was our unofficial "anthem". When "Making Love Out of Nothing At All" came out, I played it over and over again, allowing myself to get all teary-eyed about a puppy love that went awry. "Every Woman In the World" was an empowering song. "Here I Am" was emotionally riveting. "Even The Nights Are Better" had a smooth vibe and made you want to sit on the beach under the stars with your loved one. Air Supply was and still is one of my favorite groups from the 80's. I haven't heard a single song by them that I don't love! The Australian duo's Definitive Collection is a must-have for anyone who can appreciate love ballads from that era!
