No matter if you are new to the military or have served in the past, the National Guard offers an excellent pay scale. Your earnings are based on your job, education level, and rank. The longer you stay in the Guard the better chance you have of moving up the ranks. As you do so, your earnings will increase.
There are four ways in which you can earn as a member of the National Guard:
– Active Duty Pay: during training or deployment
– Drill Pay: one weekend per month
– Annual Training Pay: two weeks during the year
– Enlisted and Officer Pay: as you move up the ranks of the National Guard your paychecks will grow
National Guard Pay Scale For Active Duty Pay
As an active duty soldier in the National Guard, you will be compensated based on your job, education level, and rank. If you want to earn more, all you have to do is spend enough time in the National Guard so that you can move up the ranks.
E-1 Private: $1,357 – $1,467 monthly active duty pay
E-2 Private: $1,645 – $1,645 monthly active duty pay
E-3 Private First Class: $1,730 – $1,950 monthly active duty pay
E-4 Specialist/Corporal: $1,915 – $2,326 monthly active duty pay
E-5 Sergeant: $2,091 – $2,965 monthly active duty pay
E-6 Staff Sergeant: $2,281 – $3,533 monthly active duty pay
E-7 Sergeant First Class: $2,638 – $4,740 monthly active duty pay
E-8 Master Sergeant: $3,794 – $5,411 monthly active duty pay
E-9 Sergeant Major: $4,635 – $7,196 monthly active duty pay

E-1 Private: $182 – $ 196 two-day drill pay
E-2 Private: $219 – $ 219 two-day drill pay

Hi, My name is april thomas and I’m ready to prove to myself that I CAN handled the responsibility of raising my two daughters. My family is all military. I posponed my desires to serve when i got pregnat with my first daughter in 2008, Now that I have my second daughter, I am at a burden finacially supporting them both. I want to finally prove myself honorable; to my family and my country. My family has always served. The army has raised me. Now I want it to help raise my own family.
If im just joining what would be pay for the one weekend a month. Can somebody explain what i would be getting myself into pay wise and training
ok is this for the people that only do a weekend a month is that still how much you get a month or is it different if you arejust part time
My son is in the Wisconsin National Guard and his drill base is Mauston, WI. He is a E3 and he received orders for 3 months to preform duties at the Eau Claire, WI National Guard Recruiters office there. He travels all over the State of Wisconsin. He donen’t have a place to stay in Eau Claire so he travels about a hour and half to get there for duty from his home in the Lacrosse, WI area.. Sometimes he stays overnight at the Armory there. The other day he traveled to Superior, WI with a Naional Guard Truck to deliver some stuff by 1900 Hours and returned to Eau Claire to get some sleep and returned to Superior the next morning to help with the climing wall for High School Students this last Memorial Day weekend. He is afraid to ask Questions about his travel, Per-Diem, Travel stuff and his pay while he is working full time as a Nathional Guard under his travel Orders. He has not received any advance pay and he broke. What can He do? Is he entiled to Per-Diem and Meals? What about his traveling to Eau Claire every day for an 1 1/2 hours to get there. he just a E-3 with 2 years in the Service.
