Siamak M I'm going to give my spoiler early: THE ALIEN IS REAL !! My 3 stars go for Gardner's respectful handling of drama and Zebrowski's smooth navigation of occasional comed while in my opinion Brea Grant could have smiled a fair bit less during the back and forth telling of Gardner's recollections, in this otherwise strange montage of a long term love story/alien movie. The progression can be frustrating for some and I had to struggle stretching the narrative to aliens...or was it stretching the aliens to the love story? All an all not a bad chick flix with an alien angle. You are just left on your own to make the connection....qand oh...did I say THE ALIEN IS REAL? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review juan c It start good and suspenseful, but the last 30 minutes is super boring, and the ending sucks and will anger horror fans. If you're a hardcore horror fan, don't watch this movie because you will feel robbed. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Andrew Joe D This movie is just bad. The acting is awful and the characters suck. If you don't smoke weed watching this, it is so boring you kinda nod off. Just bad! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Chuck S God even bad movies suck now … Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/26/23 Full Review Adam B A likable indie with an unlikable protagonist. The dialog and acting moments are solid in this simple story, the monologs are noteworthy. If this movie was in the short story format, part of an anthology, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, etc the execution would have been tighter with less rethreading of themes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review Lwal W Bruh this movie was garbo, if you like lame slow romance movies with monsters and fake scares as metaphors to dumb peoples self-inflicted relationship problems then you might like this otherwise definitely not a horror and definitely not engaging and I usually like Benson and Moorhead Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Nick Allen RogerEbert.com The balance that After Midnight strikes between a two-hander and a monster story warrants a Valentine's Day weekend look, and maybe even a scary conversation. Rated: 3/4 Feb 11, 2021 Full Review Anton Bitel Little White Lies as Hank's different anniversary memories fall into place, building a mosaic-like picture of a long-term, loving relationship and its gradual breakdown,... the intrusive, ever-returning monster proves a multivalent symbol Jun 9, 2020 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety A jerry-rigged contraption of variably interesting, likable and skillful elements that only add up to one rather arbitrary goof. Feb 14, 2020 Full Review Nessa Cannon But Why Tho? A Geek Community In short, presenting After Midnight as a horror film is misleading – it will be much more enjoyable going in knowing that it will lean on a romantic drama storyline than expecting scares. Rated: 6/10 Jan 22, 2023 Full Review Cory Woodroof The Playlist You might not have heard of names like Garnder, Stella, Grant, Zebrowski, and Benson just yet, but have faith that their thoughtful, imaginative extraordinary mash-up movie will soon change that. Rated: A Feb 10, 2022 Full Review Witney Seibold Critically Acclaimed Podcast While it strains to fill its runtime, the pitch perfect ending makes up for everything.
