This place is fun and the food is really good despite you can hardly see what is in the plates as it s quite dark inside! Each recipe is delicious and we do have rituals as Burmese lamb samboosa or braised eggplants with tomatoes. This...time we tasted chicken curry and braised bamboo with chicken too, they were amazing. The fruit platter at the end was Giant and the Yasmin tea helped to end a fantastic Dinner: also they do accept international credit card!More

After over a week in Chengdu, we were ready for something a bit different. Having dined at the other Lost Heaven on Gaoyou Road on a previous visit to Shanghai but, with our hotel on the Bund, we decided to try this closer restaurant. We...were not disappointed. The waiter advised us to the right amount to order (I wish every restaurant did this!), we found the food was just as delicious. We decided to dine here twice during our visit to Shanghai as the menu is quite extensive both for regular and vegetarian options.More

Great restaurant but not typically Chinese as it mixes Burmese and Chinese food in a fusion so you get the best of both worlds. Food portions are generous s food is excellent quality with good cuts of meat. Great sized restaurant so plenty is space...but I’m sure you still need to book. Chicken beef and shrimp dishes all hit the spot and noodles were very tasty.More

Jan 16h visit. Classy decor. Food and service was great for our group of four. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices were great - burmese tea leaf salad, noodles, dai tribe chicken, stir fried beef. Wonderful flavors. Enjoyed signature drink - Thai Zeed. Great experience as...always.More

We went into this restaurant off of the main drag in the Bund. The dining area is enormous with various areas, sections, and small and larger rooms. Service is efficient and friendly. Very customer service oriented. The food is Yunnan style with smatterings of other...peoples in the province.. We started with a eggplant with tofu cold dish; then a Dai Li Style Fried Boneless Chicken with garlic and preserved pearl onions (Jiao Tou); Huayao Dai Style Sauteed Beef Tenderloin with peppers, chopped amaranth with a fragrant willow leaf and then some green tea. The food was flavorful, delicious and tasty. The service was helpful, attentive, and friendly. People from all over the world including Chinese.More

Served a mix of locals and tourists. English was no problem. Definitely get a reservation if coming after 6 PM. We tried the spring rolls which were light and flaky with lots of vegies, the green beans with shrimp paste (also good) and the grilled...pork which was served slightly pink and very flavorful. The highlight was definitely the dessert of passion fruit mousse pie with short bread crust. I could have eaten the whole pie! We would definitely go back.More

Food was quite good, but the restaurant is too dark for my taste (I mean, all Lost Heaven ambiance is, dark with heavy furniture). And please don’t look for window seat with Bund view, the best view is the busy street from restaurant where some...light comes in... on the other hand, bar on the top floor terrace has a really nice view... we were there for lunch, on summer day (practically impossible to sit on terrace when the sun is shining), but can totally imagine a nice evening cocktail on the bar with awesome view.. but somehow the first impression of a dark restaurant has made me never go back there 🙈 maybe next summer..More

I had dinner here with a colleague during my first night in Shanghai and I totally loved the set up, the atmosphere and the delicious food. The district of the restaurant is astonishing, just on the river. Would definitely go back next time I am...in Shanghai!More

As a good Chinese (Yunnan) restaurant in a very good spot, we have eaten there a number of times. The first time about a year ago, both food and service was great. However the last visit was a bit disappointing. They brought our appetizer at...the end of the meal. There were various servers, which felt like there was not one person making sure our table was taken care of. The food was Ok but the service was disappointing. We are not sure if it is worth going back there.More

I’ve been here twice, once with my wife and a second time with friends. Both times I’ve been an amazing experience. The traditional Chinese food, reinterpreted in a modern way is delicious, well presented and abundant. The location is elegant and well designed, and you...haven’t the perception of crowd even when the place is full. The prices, for the average of the area (the bund), are pretty convenient. Must try!More

Great Yunnan cuisine. Not knowing exactly what to order, we tried several smaller dishes which were all delicious. Friendly staff and great location, close to the Bund so we took a walk afterwards.

Friendly staff and food is a fusion of Asian flavour. We had the ghost chicken salad which is very Thai, Dali fried chicken, w tasted like the one in Dali, deep fried egg plant drenched in tomato sauce (like Italian tomatoes) and deep fried prawns!...All tasted good. But the coconut and mango ice cream was to …. For! Sadly, this is the first place where the toilets smell. Could be because the whole atmosphere is darkish, the men’s aim could be off the mark. Hopefully they’ll do sthg about it. Highly recommend for a night out and romantic date tooMore

The food here is absolutely delicious. If you visit Shanghai, this is a must have! By far the best food l've had in all of China. The restaurant serves Yunnan food and the options are delicious. We even went back for a second time because...it was so good. Some things we loved were the tea leaf salad, the eggplant and tomato, and the potstickers, among many more delicious dishes we ate! Great location near the Bund so you can enjoy a view after your meal!More

Returning to Shanghai recently, I couldn't resist revisiting the restaurant that marked the end of my time in the city back in 2019. The food was as incredible as ever—each dish a perfect blend of flavors, exactly as I remembered. The ambiance, unchanged, still exuded...charm. It's a place where every bite feels like a journey, and I couldn't help but appreciate the consistency and warmth in both the food and the atmosphere. If you're in Shanghai, this spot is a must-visit for a delicious trip down memory lane.More

We have eaten here a couple of times and never bothered reviewing one way or the other but after our last meal I thought I'd write a review as we were disappointed. The decor is lovely and really fun. The service is lacking in charm....abrupt and perfunctory. Its a big restaurant and felt like we were just being churned through. The food is OK. There are plenty of better Yunnan restaurants than this. I think its living off its reputation from several years ago. DisappointingMore
