Afshin Shahidi Interview And London Exhibit.

I’m still perplexed at how Prince insiders keep agreeing to be interviewed by these two.

I agree. I dont understand why insiders say yes. Have they not watched any of their prior interviews??

I really like Afshin and would love to hear what is is saying but I am OVER them putting BlondieWithTheDarkEyebrows in the middle, and the person they interview on the side, and almost out of the shot. The constant fucking head nods by these two yahoos puts me over the top.

I always start watching these interviews and then have to stop within a minute in because I am watching them head nod in unison instead of listening to what the person being interviewed is saying.

I totally agree about the head nods. I used a postcard to cover the two on the left as I watched on my iPad, so I could only see Afshin.

Part 2 I forced myself to watch the entire screen just so I could experiment and see if the head nods really detracted from the enjoyment. It did. A LOT. But part 2 is where he gets asked about Mani I think.

Casey actually co-produced this exhibition of Afshin photos. Afshin sold books here and Casey collected the door. All about the moolah.

Very interesting interview. I like listening to this man, I can understand why Prince liked having him around. He seems gentle, intelligent and reassuring. I wonder what happened to the 3121 film footage. Will it every come out? That would be phenomenal. Aww, he got emotional at the end speaking about Prince - what a sweet man! His photo exhibit looks amazing. I wonder if it'll ever come to Paris? I'd definitely go and see it.

What jerks. Not Afshin. I feel like he was being diplomatic when it came to m2. I heard everyone knew he was unhappy. But Casey is a Stan for m2 and special k

They’re horrible. And she’s constantly giggling. I get she may be nervous, but still. They’ve been doing these interviews for awhile now.

They are a bit cringe-worthy 'tis true, but at least they're going out there and getting these interviews for us so I'm going to cut them some slack. Keep up the good work, Violet Reality!

The animal print, the bleach blond hair, the giggles, the head nods, the single microphone- Prince deserves better. TVR need a session with a good stylist, that’s all.

Mani must have dazzled them somehow but why stan for her? If he hopes for an interview he needs to prepare for all the daggers coming his way.

Special k is Kirk?

Actually, the exhibit was free to the public and the book sales, portion of the print sales and the two private interviews prior to the opening were donated to the PRN Alumni Association.

This was a test run for a larger gallery show. It only ran for 10 days. Basically a pop-up.

A lot of people wanted his book available for purchase and for him to autograph it for them.

The gallery owner said she had to ask him to personally bring books with him because his book wasn't released internationally.

Because of this, he just gave the publisher the okay to release it abroad later this year.

Anyway, Afshin was there for the first 3 days. According to my friend, he took the time to tour the exhibit with people and answer any question they had about the 25 photos on display.

As for Mani, she's still close to his wife and kids. I doubt he would ever say anything negative about her or Prince.

I don't like these two but they do have a knack for getting fairly decent interviews.

From my friend, she says he doesn't seem comfortable talking about Prince's personal life. He can talk all day about everything (music, tours, basketball, etc) but shuts down emotionally whenever anything remotely personal comes up involving Prince. Especially his death and life without him.

She said she felt he was still going through it because he got emotional quite a few times. Said he had sad eyes when he took the shades off.

He told her how he was honored that Prince took an interest in him and his life. That he wanted to know about his Iranian culture, even tried a few Iranian dishes and did his best to include his family in as many things as possible. He really appreciated the love Prince had for him and his family.

This interview was done before the official opening. His wife and daughter surprised him for the official opening. She said his mood completely changed, the energy in the room shifted and he was as happy as can be the moment they showed up.

All in all, she really enjoyed herself. She went three times. Spoke with him twice. And bought a small print for her office.

I think Casey only mentioned M2 because there were photos of her in the book and so he felt that he could. I'm sure if there had been any photos of M1 in there, he would have asked about her too. I liked Afshin's answers to all of the questions asked of him - they were all sincere. I'm glad to know that Prince had this family in his life.

I had a back and forth with Casey he is a true nutball. How can anyone still stan for Special K after all we do know is mind boggling to me. He also tried to be best buddies with Lonnie

Was at the exhibit and Afshin was so nice, he signed books after the interview too

Casey and crew are super diplomatic, butt-kissers. He also stans for Jesse a a lot. He told Kim B that the hair was inappropriate but still won't say anything against her (because he interviewed her.) He is much better at defending Michael Jackson than he is Prince--something I once saw Jill Jones call him out on.

That being said, he doesn't seem to have ill will where P is concerned. He just wants access to all things Prince and will not burn any bridges to do so and lacks objectivity where the associates are concerned because they are all very nice to him. I think if he did a little soul searching he would realize that he likes all the attention, but I do think he is very forgiving of what he thinks Prince's flaws are and does love Prince and sheds light on his good traits.. So, I can't hate him even though he frustrates me.

I think he does whatever might move him along in his musical aspirations. And due to that, his reviews and whatever he's got to say irt the associates, proteges, etc....is biased. I never was much for brown-nosers though even if I understand their motivation. It speaks of a lack of integrity.

Afshin is fine AF. No disrespect to Mrs. Kerry. Will watch the videos later.

Loving the good vibes from people who respect Prince and are grateful for the opportunities he provided. He saw Prince for who he was (a genius)... and took great pics.
