We were taken there upon the recommendation of a friend and we ended up buying a handful of art work. I particularly loved the works of Cliff and could hardly decide which ones to buy. I look forward to hanging all the art work I got from here on my walls soon. If you are ever in Uganda and interested in local art work, it is well worth your visit.

I’m not an avid art-lover but having read other peoples reviews, I thought I’d give this gallery a look. It is mostly paintings, with some very interesting sculptures. However, the batik fabric grabbed my attention.
The artwork is very reasonably priced and I would recommend this little gallery as a visit. The bonus is that this gallery, Afriart, Kona, AKA art and Kampala Fair are all within half a km or so of each other.

I love this place. They show only Ugandan artists, and have a very very large selection. You could spend half a day going through all the art they have on the walls and stacked against the walls. Some of it is exquisite, fine art. Some, amateur. But it is worth going through the piles to find something you like.

In addition, they sell paintings on fabric that are truly beautiful (painted by Herbert Kalule, if I remember correctly), intended for clothing. We took one long piece, hemmed it, and use it as a gorgeous table cloth. The colors are extraordinary. And we gave one as a gift. Also they are washable.

We must have bought 5-6 paintings there, and they all enrich our collection of East African art.

This place is worth a visit - both for locals and tourists. Oh, for tourists, they will remove the painting from the frame and carefully roll it for transporting in your suitcase, if you prefer.

This gallery has a lot of really good paintings by local Ugandan artists. Mostly acrylic and oil. They also have some fabric pieces and jewelry. Definitely worth a visit!
