Attentive waiters and very knowledgeable. Food quite imaginative and cooked per our request. A little too pricey for the ala carte menu. We ordered 3 breads for the table and it cost almost $30. and not very tasty. The atmosphere is remarkable. The grounds even...after dark are spectacular.More

I must admit I usually go for waterfront/view restaurants so choosing Acre "within the mainland" made me hesitate but once we arrived... I immediately realized that non-waterfront locations can be as amazing or even more unique! The entire place is stunning, a little oasis in...the desert! Food was great, drinks tasty and service polite - it's a fine dining experience so expect fine dining prices if you are on a budget or price sensitive though comparable to US or Caribbean pricing (yet triple or quadruple the prices we paid for fine dining in La Paz in the other area of BCS). The peacocks roaming around and donkeys at the entrance are definitely a great part of the experience :) Definitely would recommend for special occasions - the farm grounds in the back are a must so make sure to accommodate some extra time before the dinner (before it's dark) for that.More

We’ve gone to this restaurant repeatedly since it first opened and just when You think it can’t get any better, it exceeds all your expectations. The food is incomparably good (it’s new chef Larbi is so charming and his food is terrific—he will cook you...anything you’d like if you give him enough notice), and the service is like a well-oiled machine with a smile. What is most unique is the setting—complete with the most lush garden, tree-houses and an incredible atmosphere. Not to be missed.More

Okay first off, the service was horrible. You basically have to go on a safari hunt for the waiter, who may or may not take the bait. What I mean by bait is, that you have to physically close all your menus and make sure...you and your family look like you are ready to a human. By the time me and my family got our drinks, I totally forgotten I ordered them. Now I don’t know if it was just a regular busy night, but it was a Thursday night......so I doubt it. Now on to the biggest problem, the pricing. I have never payed so much money for a small bowl of pasta that was not even pasta. Bare in mind, the pasta was good but not worth the $36. Also, the new head chef feels he can price every single one of his dishes from the $45-68 price range! Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your no Gordon Ramsay. To be honest, if your reading this review do not go to this restaurant unless you want to pay an ACRE of money for an underwhelming meal. P.S, the bread is not even free.More

I’ve been to Acre many times since it opened and I must say as a resident of Cabo San Lucas I will NEVER go back or refer Acre again. The cocktail menu is no longer. And the dinner menu is HORRIBLE. I would never recommend...this place to anyone until they figure out how to get back to where they started. The service was horrible as well. Once we complained the chef can out to try and fix the problem but honestly of 11 people none of our group enjoyed their meals.More

Acre has been a family favorite since it opened. We eat there every time we are in Cabo, 3-4 times a year. Tonight we were very disappointed by the food, service and prices. We have never had a bad meal at Acre until tonight. The...food was bad....the octopus was chewy and overcooked, the corn lobster was bland and only had one piece of lobster, the frozen key lime pie was terrible and the chocolate lava cake was boring unremarkable. The new menu is very limited and the prices are way out of proportion. A small roasted chicken was $40. We read that the new chef is from Agua at the Pamilla. We enjoy Agua, and while it can be pricey, the food is outstanding. Acre’s food does not compare to Agua. Not only was the food bad, the service was bad as well. We were seated for more than 30 minutes before we received our drinks. In fact, we received our soups and salads before receiving our drinks or bread. (And you have to pay for the bread). We had to search/ask for our waiter any time we needed something. This meal was our worst experience this week.More

Where to start? My son had been here previously and raved about the place! Upon arrival Acre is very impressive, with lush palm and agave gardens, it seems like a tropical paradise! The bar features very inventive cocktails which we enjoyed both before and during...ou three hour dinner... Dinner was nothing short of an odyssey. We sat down ar 6:00PM, for more great cocktails but that’s where the magic ended! We were a large party of eight.we had two servers that proved to be con men. Appetizers took nearly an hour to arrive. We ordered two bottles of white wine. They arrived warm and they tried to serve them to us tat way.one of the selections was not available so the server attempted to substitute a much more expensive wine in its place. We ordered mineral water for the table, this proved to be a huge mistake! The servers attempted to pour nine bottles of water over the three hours in addition to cocktails and three bottles of wine.corkage is outrageous at $75.00 so do not bring your own wine! Ironic since we had ordered $200 worth of wine off the list! The food was just so-so but the fried green tomato sand cheese biscuits were good. We ordered two servings of Cheddar Bisquits and were billed for four... Some our guests had to leave after two and a half hours of copious amounts of mineral water and very little food! By the time dinner arrived at 8:30, we were all done and frustrated... The bill included 9 bottles of mineral water, $75.00 corkage and several things we had never ordered 19,000 pesos or $1250. When we protested, they removed the corkage and mineral water, bringing the bill to $1067.00 We checked our credit card upon coming home, and realized like any other Trip Advisor folks that we had been grossly overcharged bases largely on an inaccurate exchange rate.(20 Pesos/1 dollar) I so wanted to love this place and return often! We were SOdisappointed, it apparently was once great but has now become a huge rip off joint to take advantage of “rich Americans” on vacation! NEVER AGAINMore

This is our third time to ACRE and our last two visits were outstanding, however it looks like per other reviewers the restaurant has taken a downward turn since the last chef departed! The food was so disappointing this time around. First off upon looking...at the menu, the prices are WAY higher, which would not be a huge deal if you got the same caliber of food as before, but that was just not the case. We had drinks in the bar, the drinks were ok, but did not justify the price in my opinion. We have historically done the tasting menu which is now almost 50% more per person, and has several fewer courses than our last visit making it about twice as expensive. After seeing this, we decided not to do the tasting menu and ordered ala carte instead. The flavors were just not there for us. The best items on this trip were the bread basket and the dessert, so the pastry chef is doing awesome, but the firsts and mains just did not live up to the expectations as all. We used to make the annual trip just to visit this restaurant, but sad to say, no more. I will say the servers were amazing, enthusiastic, and helpful, but that unfortunately does not make a dining experience great without the food. The music played by the DJ was also annoyingly loud and should be turned down. It was hard to have a conversation or hear the waiter with the speaker blasting house music right behind him.More

One will be surprised by the property after driving down a dirt road to get there. The property is lush with various "tree houses" (they aren't REALLY built in trees, but structures built on "stilts") which serve as rooms for rent. Exorbitantly priced "rooms" at...that. There are some peacocks, for those interested. The restaurant is attractively appointed, the service prompt, friendly, and professional. The menu is not extensive and if you're a vegan, forget about it. BUT, what one DOES order is beautifully presented and, for the most part, very tasty. Friends at the table raved about the biscuits, the suckling pig, the seared Ahi, and the Moroccan stew. Lower raves/grades were given for the lobster soup and salad. Two complimentary desserts were brought at the end of the meal. This is not an inexpensive experience but it is a worthy one, nonetheless, if money isn't an issue. I wish the early dining (we dined at 6:30 p.m.) was unaccompanied by the loud music the d.j. found appropriate. Some chill Cafe del Mar style tunes or ambient or SILENCE would have been much preferred. All in all, a very pleasant experience despite the back of the property closed for a wedding reception.More

When arriving hostess offers a quick tour within the property where you can see...all the fields where they grow their own groceries (perfect place to live the farm to table experience), also you can see hotel cottages and three rooms options for staying. Restaurant has an outstanding ambient, even tables are opened air they have heathers so you can dine cozy and warm. Acre is an amazing restaurant and spa. We had the privilege to dine there last month and it was an amazing visual experience as well as an amazing food experience. The site is completely beautiful with tropical palms, flowers and fruit trees, and birds everywhere....It is very serene and relaxing walking around the grounds. Before we had dinner Michael showed us around and gave us a tour of the Treehouse Guest rooms, which are beautiful and I can only imagine waking up in the treetops to a gorgeous sunrise! Then on to the dining, the bar was excellent, well prepared and original cocktails. Our waiter was excellent and made perfect suggestions for the meal with great wine pairing. Everything was fresh and delicious as it truly is Farm to Table, the fish was tender and moist, my friend had the roasted pork and she said it was perfect. All of the vegetables and salads were excellent! We even had a surprise guest as one of the peacocks flew in while we were dining - a beautiful bird. Acre is a place I would recommend for the location and beautiful setting, truly stunning vegetation and of course the perfect food!! If you go I would suggest that you arrive early so that you can enjoy the beauty of the place, I hope to visit again.More

My wife and I went there with our 1 year old (we brought our own high chair which is portable and attaches onto the table with 2 clamps - a must have for parents with little ones!)....The chef (Larbi) made a completely special meal for our son, and came by the table several times just to check on us and how our son’s food was. Our server was Andres, he too was extremely thorough and attentive. He helped make our night exquisite. And the food was absolutely fantastic (compliments to Larbi and his staff!) My wife and I are frequent visitors to Cabo San Lucas. Each visit we are in Mexico we search for a new restaurant to explore and hopefully find that "must go to spot!" Well, our search is over! Acre provided us with the ambience, upbeat...modern vibes, service, food, and experience we were hoping for. All levels of our evening we 5 starts! We were greeted at the hostess counter by a Vancouver Native who took us on an unexpected but beautiful tours of their mango orchard. My wife and I were confused where we were for a few minutes is was that beautiful--a tranquil oasis for a restaurant! Our hostess was knowledgable, kind, and pleasant to spend time with before taking a seat at our table. We are not the greatest with names but surely she deserves all the credit for the introduction of Acre and to the rest of our evening! Our serving staff was headlined by our head waiter Marcos and his assistant Iban. Needless to say, from start to finish, they crushed it! The explanation of the menu was on point and Marco's recommendations were out of this world, meeting and exceeding our expectations for taste, presentation, and fulfillment in the entire experience. The staff and entire restaurant should be complimented. We want to send a personal thanks to Marcos, Iban, and our hostess for welcoming us to Acre and making us feel apart of the family. Friends and I that were vacationing came here for our last dinner in Cabo. We were staying closer to town so getting out to the location took nearly 40 minutes, but was well worth it. Talk about going over hill over dale and hitting the...dusty trail that's what it's like to get out here. This is the ultimate rustic location with unpaved roads up a hillside that was palpitating going up at night. I could not imagine doing this ride in daylight when you can better see the drops. You arrive at a very dusty parking lot and wonder how can this be the location of a 5 star restaurant when all you see is a jungle. Well my friends follow the wooded path and you do indeed arrive at Acre Restaurant. It is a mostly open air space seemingly built around a grove of trees. The tables have a very rustic vibe, no tablecloths here but have no fear the food will be high quality. We had a range of options for our meal and split between chicken, beef and fish. I had the chicken mainly because I'd had so much beef during my Cabo stay I needed to cut back. However I was not shortchanged having a very flavorful meal that began with their carrot soup ... so good and nicely seasoned and juicy chicken. There was a mistake in the service in that I ordered a side of mushrooms and when it arrived it ended up being a side of roasted brussel sprouts. The lighting is a bit dim but I do know the difference. The error was corrected. I liked the brussels but I love mushrooms. The portion size was hearty so much so that desert was not a consideration for any of us. The meal was excellent the service was very good and we were lucky enough to sit near the "open" kitchen so we could see the meals being finished off before being sent to table ... I was entranced to see food salted, shaved truffles added, plates properly structured, lovely. Very much enjoyed the meal, ambiance and the service at Acre. I highly recommend a jacket or heavy wrap if you are going in the evening. And don't look down on your drive back to civilization.More
