      Critics Consensus

While smarter than the average slasher film, A Perfect Getaway eventually devolves into a standard, predictable, excessively violent thriller.

angela g this movie is great. i like the actors in this movie the twist and turns where crazy defiantly a watch Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/14/23 Full Review Regina P I had considered that the culprits were who they turned out to be early on in the story. However, there were 2 scenes that did not mesh with that theory. One in particular where the guilty people are discussing whether the other couple is guilty. Huh????? Maybe I'm remembering that wrong. Anyway, it wasn't a bad watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Joe F This is a little known gem of a movie, I'll tell you that. What could have been the most basic of plots and simple of concepts is elevated to such bigger heights that it was supposed to. The writing is great, cast was brilliant and the TWIST! I'm not going to lie, I'm usually VERY good at predicting twists, VERY attentive to seeing all the little hits the movie is giving you. This one smacked me right in the face! The casting for this movie was fantastic that it gave unexpected roles to actors that sold it well. I was honestly SHOCKED to see the rating on this movie was so low. I love it with a passion. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Gene T An entertaining whodunit-style mystery. Good acting and great cinematography. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/22 Full Review Tom G More than enough for a good thrill. Chris needs to play characters like this more often. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/14/22 Full Review Jill J I enjoyed how the movie leads you to think different things through it and at times we begin to feel confused about the nature of different characters. Then it's pretty exciting at moments. Especially the end! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/08/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Adam Nayman The Ringer The intimacy of A Perfect Getaway can be read as Twohy's response to his adventures in mega-budget moviemaking, as can its smartly self-reflexive references to the craft of storytelling itself.
