Fashion industry film parody
Verified purchase
This is a funny movie! It is a spoof of the fashion industry in the mould of Austin Powers, but without so much innuendo.

The plot is unbelievable but that doesn't really matter because the main characters, played by Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, are so convincing. Ben Stiller is also the film's Director, and there are plenty of guest appearances and cameo roles which add to the fun as you recognise appearances by Victoria Beckham, Donald Trump and a host of other famous actors and celebrities.

I watched it because of the hype surrounding the sequel - Zoolander 2, as I wanted to be up to speed for watching this film.

It was a fun comedy film suitable for family viewing

A most amusing film but WHERE are the extras that were on the DVD?
Verified purchase
I like Zoolander, it's a surprisingly amusing film that I've seen several times and it continues to appeal.
In case you don't know it's a spoof thriller/comedy about a VERY dim but likeable male model called Derek Zoolander
and his rivalry with the younger model 'Hansel'. I'm sure you know all that so on to the disc.
The transfer of the film is excellent as is the audio, I can't fault either and the additional colour range of
the Blu-Ray format shows off the costuming nicely. However: the DVD version of Zoolander contains a large number
of very watcheable extras including deleted scenes, alternate takes and VH1 appearances. The Blu-Ray has NOTHING.
Not one extra, just the film. It's still worth the money because the film is good and the price is right but DO
keep your DVD copy too.

Rented movie fails to play through Prime TV app

Nothing wrong with the film. I love Zoolander the movie. Yet again though a streamed rented movie from Amazon Prime will not play through my Samsung TVs. My fibres Internet connection is fast. Though I cannot prove this I suspect it’s an issue with the tv based app as this is not the first time it’s happened.

Very silly, very funny

"Really really ridiculously good looking" model Derek Zoolander's (Ben Stiller) career is going downhill thanks to new hotshot model Hansel (Owen Wilson). So Derek tries to do good deeds for the world ad find out who he really is, Such as helping his family in the underground mines, then Derek unfortunately gets hypnotized into murdering the Malaysian Prime Minister by the villainous model billionaire Mugatu (Will Ferrell) and being chased by his goons for not getting the job done. All of these funny situations make up such a fun film. All the actors are good. Ben Stiller manages to keep his character stupid yet very likeable, he does this well. Owen Wilson who I've always liked is brilliant as Derek's philisophical rival. Will Ferrell is brilliant as OTT fashion bigshot Mugatu. Milla Jovovich is an enjoyable delight to watch in her oddball turn as Mugatu's villainous counterpart. A very good spoof of the modelling and fashion industry.

I was surprised by how much I liked this film

I was surprised by how much I liked this film! It's a laugh riot, packed with jokes, Ben Stiller's so funny and sweet as a well-meaning himbo. It's worth buying it just so you can understand all the Zoolaner memes online, people are constantly quoting it 'cause it's that funny!

This film is hilarious, the humour is very, very silly, but also very endearing. Ben Stiller is brilliant, as always, and gives some of the film's funniest quotes. I love it, it's a true spirit lifter and never fails to cheer me up. If you're looking for a light hearted film offering lots of laughs this is for you. Will Ferrell is also brilliant as is Owen Wilson. Look out for David Bowie too, very funny indeed!

Absurd, Flawed, but Enjoyable

This is a film that had great potential but, for me at least, never quite hit the mark. There are some wonderfully daft moments and I'll definitely watch it again.

Absurdly, my most enjoyable thing about this DVD is Will Ferrell's Mugatu dance on the DVD extras menu. It's also worth mentioning that Derek Zoolander started the Onesie. Okay, he didn't but we can pretend can't we?

Really enjoyed this daft comedy,...could've done with a bit more of Will Ferrell's iconic villain.
However, loses a star for the lack of any extras whatsoever on the disc-just the bare bones film! Even the dvd has bonus features! Shameful!
Kinda wish I purchased the cheaper & loaded dvd instead!
