saad k It was an experiment to try new things, which turned out to be perfect. Amazing concept, Fantastic acting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/10/23 Full Review paeonia 1 Underrated! Worth the watch! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review rahul m best movie ever with a new concept like hollywood Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/22 Full Review adi 1 A very bland, boring and forgettable adventure. The film is dull especially the 2nd half is way overblown in terms of logic, storytelling and tone. No doubt it resulted in the decline of Shah Rukh Khan's career. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I think the film was really really good… In the first half. I feel a little biased though as I am a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan. The romance was pretty lacking to be honest. I mean, at the end (spoilers) the girl leaves her fiancé (wait, are they married at that point? I don't remember) because Bauua goes through all that effort just to get her back. We don't get any satisfying pay off to that. Take Devdas the 2002 SRK Classic. Even though it ended with Dev dying at the end due to drink and intense sadness, it felt very satisfying because at least it wasn't left open ended. We know Paro got married and couldn't have her beloved Dev because of marriage and the extreme sadness that consumed his last dying breath. Back to Zero with another spoiler. The way it ended with him just emerging from the capsule in the ocean was not a very satisfying end. The whole second half you are rooting for him to win her back and it goes no where. The only reason I give this 4 stars is for the first half, the stellar music, phenomenal cast and how much heart you felt went into this film. You could tell it was a passion project that just happened to have not gone over well. SRK fans who followed development and behind the scenes of this film as it was filming will know the passion, heart and soul that went into making this film and hold it on a higher pedestal as a result. Udita Jhunjhunwala Livemint Too ambitious in its vision and indiscriminately illogical, Rai falters in exploring both inner spaces and outer space. Jul 29, 2019 Full Review Anupama Chopra Film Companion [Characters] are individually interesting but the connective tissue between them is so thin that the narrative starts to wobble precariously. Rated: 2/5 Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Namrata Joshi The Hindu In Zero, the defects are physical, propped up by special effects but lack a strong emotional connect. Jan 15, 2019 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express Zero is a wild film that imagines a classless India in which a small town dwarf gets with a rocket scientist and a movie star, rejects them both, goes to Mars, and returns. It's the most misunderstood film of Shah Rukh Khan's career. Dec 22, 2023 Full Review Anna M.M. Vetticad Firstpost Thank the cosmos for Bollywood's dimpled wonder, his charisma and enthusiasm undiminished by his 53 years, because without him, Zero has little going for it. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 29, 2021 Full Review Saibal Chatterjee NDTV The heavy-handed humour that it generates hinges on the character's lack of inches. Not funny at all.
