Im 22. und gleichzeitig letzten Teil der Abenteuer des jungen Indiana Jones verschlägt es unseren Indy direkt nach Hollywood.
Nachdem Kellnern nicht mehr ist, gerät Indy an den Filmproduzenten Carl Laemmle der ihm einen Nebenjob gibt. Als Produzent soll er dafür sorgen, das Erich Von Stroheim endlich seinen Film abdreht und nicht weiter übers Budget geht. Zudem darf er als Ersatzschauspieler und Stuntman für John Ford arbeiten.
Kommt schon etwas höherwertiger daher als die beiden Vorgänger Filme und bietet jetzt etwas mehr Schauwerte. Vor allem Film interessierte werden hier wirklich zugehämmert mit allerhand Infos und Personen, die beim Beginn der Filmärea Rang und Namen hatten.
Ausstattungstechnisch natürlich wieder erste Sahne und wirklich jede Szene kann sich hier sehen lassen. Wer…
Is this my favorite film where John Ford slips Erich von Stroheim a horse mickey? Gonna go with a yes on that one.
The end of the Young Indy series puts two Hollywood stories together in a study of contrasts. In the first, Indiana Jones teams up with Irving Thalberg in a desperate attempt to stop von Stroheim's out-of-control production of FOOLISH WIVES. In the second, he works as a gopher and stuntman for director Ford's first feature film. Both sections are filled with nice tidbits of Hollywood lore and genuinely fun to watch, though the romance between Indy and a screenwriter that's undoubtedly doomed to futility becomes a little too much in the film's second half.

And here we are, the final one of these movies. Indiana Jones tries his hand at being a Hollywood assistant, and it's one of the better episodes, probably because you can tell there's a lot of love for filmmaking and the old, old westerns. It's actually pretty amusing in parts, and other that yet another girl Indy has fallen hopelessly in love with, this is a nice send off to the series.
There's an awkward bit where Indy tells the girl he's in love with, who he unfairly judges for seeing another man at the same time (The cheek!) "You belong to me!" He immediately backtracks on it, but these last two episodes don't put Indiana Jones in the greatest…
with the abductions and roofies and skirted labor laws, it is interesting to see just how little Hollyweird has changed. And thats the end of that. 22 TV movies later and I believe I now know less about Indi than I ever did. That's a wrap!
Kind of a lukewarm, lightweight way for the YOUNG INDIANA JONES saga to come to a close. There's a bit of fun to be had in playing around in the Silent Hollywood setting, but not nearly enough.
The first of the two episodes that were edited together to make this TV movie is actually pretty great. It's surprisingly witty and features a Coen Brothers-esque plot. You can tell the writers injected their own experiences with difficult producers and directors into the script, it's a comically accurate depiction from my understanding. It's a little rushed, but that only backs up that it would work really well as a stand-alone non-indy movie. I say non-indy because this isn't really an Indy adventure. There's no globe-trotting, interesting history lessons, booby traps, or eccentric villains. The romance subplot was in poor taste though so they definitely got that down.

And here it is, the final Indiana Jones episode of the series. And what a way to end. Now it’s no Mystery if the Blues, but it was still a pretty good episode. Seeing Indy travel in Hollywood, and see the greats such as John Ford and Eric Von Stroheim. The ending makes it feel like Indy. And SNAKES. HE HATES SNAKES. A good way to end the series not really much else to say.
This was made for people that love Indiana Jones and old Hollywood and something tells me the overlap between the two is pretty substantial.
