Seemingly against all odds, Everton managed to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat in Wednesday night's merseyside derby against local rivals Liverpool as The Toffees registered a most welcome three points with a 2-0 win at Goodison Park, while Brentford recorded an emphatic 5-1 win away from home at strugglers Luton Town last weekend which helped to alleviate The Bees' relegation concerns.

Three wins out of their last four games have helped Everton move further away from the relegation zone in the Premier League table with crucial victories against the likes of Burnley, Nottingham Forest and most impressive of all, the aforementioned win against Liverpool.

Sean Dyche's side still occupy 16th place in the domestic top flight table but more importantly they now hold a useful seven-point cushion between themselves and fourth from bottom Nottingham Forest heading into this weekend's action.
