Wrapped Up in You is book #4.5 in the Chicago Rebels series by Kate Meader. I loved this series. But, my love for Cade and Dante in Undone, book #3, was biggest of all. This novella is a continuation of their story. I couldn’t have been more excited when I found out about this book!

Cade Burnett, pro hockey player for the Chicago Rebels and Dante Moretti, the general manager, have now been together for three and a half years and couldn’t be happier. Their love grows stronger every single day. Both have hopes and dreams for the future, but life in the pros is always risky business. You never know when or if you might be traded. And Dante’s contract is coming up for renewal. What if they got separated by thousands of miles?

wine with funny labels - Google Search

At the same time, Dante has some stress within his family. No matter how happy they are as a couple, Cade wants Dante to be happy in every other area of his life as well.

This little short takes us through Thanksgiving into Christmas. It’s been awhile since I read Undone By You but I was immediately drawn right back into the beautiful connection these two share. You could read this without having read Undone By You but you wouldn’t know their story, how they came together, what their struggles were. So it would mean so much more to you if you read that first. And I am pretty sure you won’t mind a bit once you fall in love with these two just as I did.

Wrapped Up in You occurs 3 years after Cade and Dante’s relationship began and it’s a doozie! There’s the same sexy chemistry and sizzling heat between Dante and Cade, but there’s serious emotional upheaval that Cade feels will potentially pull the guys in different directions. What’s a guy to do?

Cade and Dante are my favorite m/m romance couple and I was thrilled to see they had another story! Their first book was great, but left me hanging with soooo many loose threads! Well, this sexy holiday short answered all my questions while packing a big punch on love, life, and family! This novella definitely lived up to its title!

a novella about Dante and Cade (you can read my short review of the first novella about them in this series here -> https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ) I was looking forward to reading it hoping it will give us a bit more than that first one… it takes place a few years later and… well, again, it was a bit disappointing… I ended up giving it 3 stars and I don’t think it was entirely necessary… I think I would have loved it better if we had more glimpses into the lives of other couples from this series but just this duo was not enough…

XOXO

The only thing wrong with Wrapped Up in You by Kate Meader is I didn’t want it to end. Seriously, I wanted to see these two character experience parenthood (hint, hint Kate). Four years ago hockey player Cade Burnett made a play for his general manager and boyhood crush Dante Moretti and while they’ve been happy in their relationship, Cade is worried about the future so he along with Dante’s sister try to smooth out Dante’s relationship with his parents and while it doesn’t quite work out the way he expected, he also didn’t expect it to spur big changes in his and Dante’s relationship.

I loved everything about this book with the exception that it could have gone on for about 11 billion more chapters and even thing I’d probably want more. Seeing Cade and Dante still in love, still pushing one another, and still finding a way to make their unique relationship work made my heart so happy. Add in Dante’s big and boisterous family and Cade’s teammates and his best friend and you have a wonderful holiday story that will warm your heart and leave you breathless.

Filled with emotion and such joy, Wrapped Up in You was a perfect holiday treat!

I really enjoyed this check-in novella with Cade and Dante! They've had their happy for now ending in Undone by You, but this is a look at what comes after, with the real concerns about how their careers (coach and player) could put them on paths to different cities and what would then happen to their relationship. There's also a family theme, with Dante and his parents who've been estranged looking to find a way to heal the wounds of the past. And there's definitely lots of heat with some very sexy scenes between these two big, hard hockey players. The whole series has been a delight to read and this is a great addition.

Readers were first introduced to Dante Moretti and Cade Burnett as a couple in Undone by You, where the two fought hard to overcome criticism and prejudice to be together. It has now been three years and the two are still going strong both professionally and personally. Wrapped Up in You finds the love between Cade and Dante being tested.

Dante is the General Manager of the Chicago Rebels hockey team. Cade is one of the team’s defensemen. Dante’s contract is up for renewal and Cade through his best friend and co-owner of the team, Violet Vasquez St. James has learned that the team is talking about possibly trading Cade out of Chicago. While Cade understands hockey is a business and nothing is guaranteed, he can’t help but be nervous about what the future holds for him and Dante.

Wrapped Up in You starts on Thanksgiving Day with Cade and Dante traveling to New York to spend Thanksgiving with Dante’s sisters and their families. Instead of giving thanks and having a joyous day, the Moretti family ends up spending it in the hospital. What starts out as a tragedy turns out to be the catalyst Dante and Cade need to solidify their relationship.

Cade and Dante are one of my favorite couples. There isn’t anything about them I don’t love. Kate Meader is one of my favorite authors because she writes amazing characters and always manages to allow me to escape into the pages of her books. While Wrapped Up in You is a standalone read, I think you would really appreciate and love this novella more if you read Undone by You first. That's the true love story of Dante and Cade.

Hockey player Cade Burnett and General Manager Dante Moretti has been together for the last three and a half years. This Thanksgiving, Cade know what he wants to give his boyfriend but it's the last thing Dante expected and the surprise might not be just up to them.

I adore Kate Meader's books no matter the pairing but she wrote my favorite MM couple with Cade and Dante (as well as Gage and Brady in the Hot in Chicago series). If you like your romance with a little extra heat, you got to pick a KM's book or novella.

This was perfect! I loved Dante and Cade and was so excited when I saw they got another book. I one-clicked so hard I'm surprised I didn't crack my screen! And it was everything I hoped it would be. Fun, sexy, heartwarming, and sweet. It was such a great continuation of this HEA and I'm so happy Kate decided to do this. What a fantastic surprise and gift for us readers. I wholeheartedly recommend this to fans of this series and of Dante and Cade!

I really wasn't sure about this one as it started. I liked that Dante and Cade were going to see his sisters, but knew his parents hadn't been part of his life since he came out, so the trip would be bittersweet. I was very surprised to see Cade, along with one sister ambush Dante with his parents, who also didn't know he was going to be there. To say things were a shit show is an understatement, but I'm glad that Dante go to say his peace.

The aftermath of this ambush was a bit crazy and drama filled. In a way it was good what happened, Dante had the opportunity to speak to both of his parents and really tell them what was so wrong about what they did and how it would go from here if they didn't change. Dante's stories mattered because things did change and for the better!

I loved how this ended, loved the wedding, but even better was the baby.

HEA defined

A fantastic extended epilogue to Cadante’s story. Reconciliation with family, a wedding, and a baby. The very definition of happy ever after.

I didn’t think I could love Cade and Dante anymore...I was wrong!

This beautiful, sexy AF holiday novella is the perfect check in with my favorite Chicago Rebel and his main man and GM. Cade has decided to ensure the Dante is in a good place if/when he gets traded but Dante is ready to make sure that nothing stands in the way of of their HEA!

I loved that while this novellas was short, perhaps too short for this greedy lover of all things Chicago Rebels, it was still super steamy and packed a one-two emotional punch!

Please keep these wonderful story/character update coming!

3.5 Stars rounded UP

Cade and Dante are among my favorite couples of Meader’s Chicago Rebels-verse that I was overjoyed when there’s a holiday novella of this couple! Taking place more of less three years after “Undone by You” concluded, it conveyed the guys’ life together, including the holidays spent with family. On this particular time when the trade deadline loomed in the background, Dante’s dearest one decided to give a little push for Dante to reconcile with his parents.

As always, the characters charmed me witless, their opposing natures mixed so well (in and out of bed, I might add). And it’s ever so good to visit the Rebels universe again, even if only a couple familiar character made sparse appearance. The even-pace as well as MC’s alternate voices, insight, and exchanges whisked together appealing novella of Dante and Alamo. The chemistry and harmony this pair gave out was a stuff of smitteness ...if that even a word. 😛 But what moved me more was the heartfelt dialogues among the characters that touched past and current issues relating to their continuing happiness. Although thankfully devoid of drama (which was the penchant of the series in general).

My only issue was with the ending - the tie loose end of all that (after such a leisure reader had throughout the story - flew so fast. But hey, it’s a novella, and at least I got chance to read more of my favorite couple. So I couldn’t really make a fuss about it.

“Wrapped Up in You” es un epílogo que sigue al libro “Undone by You”.

I loved this short little novella. I now want to go back and reread Good Guy to see where exactly this storyline overlaps with the first book of the Rebel Rookies series.

I love that Cade and Dante finally get their forever HEA. The acceptance of Dante's parents (we now need to work on the approval, but baby steps), the wedding, and the birth of their first child. I said it in the review of Undone By You that I wasn't too drawn to Dante's character but I absolutely love Cade. I still feel the same. I may have warmed up to Dante a bit but I still don't feel drawn to him. Cade Burnett, however, is perfect. Perfect teammate, perfect friend, perfect BFF and "stand-in" brother, perfect boyfriend, perfect husband, and will surely be a perfect father.

Swoon

I've loved Cade and Dante since the beginning. The stoic, wickedly handsome Italian in his designer suits and the sweet, happy puppy dog of a Texan laid back in nature finding each other. Let's not forget Cade's uber crush on Dante, yeah. I'm a fan. So of course my greedy, needy self had to have this novella. I needed more Cade and Dante. Nothing was stopping me- not even the potential heartbreak of a trade.

Don't worry though, this HEA outweighs the crying in your pig tailed wine response! Rebels for the win, again!

Perfect ending to their story!

Cade and Dante travel to New York and Cade tries to fix Dante’s relationship with his parents since haven’t talked to him since he announced he was gay. Dante wasn’t so sure about seeing his sister’s and their families because he didn’t want to get between them and their parents.

Wrapped Up In You is a very good finish to Cade and Dante’s story especially the epilogue.

Wrapped Up In You catches up with Cade and Dante, three years after they fell in love in Undone By You, and it was a fantastic story. That was not only full of heat, but some serious emotion. As the couple deal with Cade's potential trade away from the Chicago Rebels organisation. And I genuinely enjoyed every moment I spent with them, and would definitely recommend this story to others. Particularly if you're a fan of the couple and the original Rebel's stories.

Yes, yes, we've established I read out of order.
Oh well. :D

I liked this novella - it was really cute, and got me interested in the characters' "main stories" - and also it was nice to read a holiday story where it wasn't all perfect BUT it wasn't all doom too.
Nothing too pat.

Lots of heat, reconciliation ...
I know I had some of the previous books in my TBR so I think I'll have to move some of those up :D

C - I can see myself re-reading this

Cade and Dante may be an unusual couple, but they are blissfully happy, if it wasn't for the spectre of being separated by work hanging over their heads. It's stopped them from moving further with their relationship.

Come the holidays and they are celebrating with Dante's siblings, but not his parents who cannot accept his homosexuality (that sounds pompous, but gayness sounds ungrammatical, maybe just being gay?). Anyway Cade has a plan.

Short, but sweet, holiday novella.

The perfect happy ending

Kate Meade is one of my favorite authors. She is a gifted story teller who writes edgy characters with hearts of gold. We are lucky to get a future look at Dante and Cade whose love story is one of risk, love and acceptance. I absolutely love this hockey series and can't wait for the next book ❤

This is my favorite couple, Cade and Dante, from this author even more than Addison and Ford. I loved that we got to see them more and how much has their relationship has grown since the end of their 1st book. And I greatly enjoyed seeing their new addition to family and how their relationship will be from now on for their HEA.

I like it when we get to catch up with couples from previous stories, even if just for a brief glance. I liked Cade and Dante's beginning; so seeing Cade return the favor for Dante was like closing the circle on these two. I was glad they decided to determine their own destiny rather than waiting for it to determine them. Great wrap up to this series.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I never expected I'd find it so easy to fall into sync with a book based on hockey players, but this team is just so easy to fall head over heels with. I'd recommend this read to anyone that is a fan of competitive sports, hot athletes and finding romance in unexpected places.

Cade “Alamo” Burnett decides to get his sweetheart, Dante Moretti, back into the bosom of his family. So he plans a Christmas ambush that leads to more drama and a hospital stay.

Why I started this book: Finishing out the Rebels series.

Why I finished it: Short. Two tangential conflicts going on in novella that both got solved abruptly which felt weird.
