Descripción del producto

World Without Waves is a love story set within a symbolic, cautionary tale about society's increasing dependence on technology. Louis, a hyperactive New York City TV director suffers a sudden and crippling allergy to electricity. Resigned to create his own electicity-free sanctuary, he flees urban life for rural Texas. There he develops explosive, cathartic relationships with two other wounded souls - Sarah and Doug. The fillm was beautifully shot by Hungarian master cinematographer Pap Ferenz, and features a soundtrack produced by Austin's Stephen Bruton. First time, feature director J. Mitchell Johnson spent eight years putting the film together.

5.0 de 5 estrellas World Without Waves-A Cinematic Masterpiece
Calificado en Estados Unidos el 7 de abril de 2007
World Without Waves, written and directed by J.Mitchell Johnson,is a masterpiece in the cinematic experience. The film is unique in content and structure. The plot focus is on the man's underlying psychological battles with himself and with nature. The sublime asethetics found in this film are amazing. Johnson's ability to bring out the primal instinct of human survival vs. nature in his use of characterizations is a profound statement of the complex issues found in World Without Waves. The film centers on Louis(Will Stewart),a man in crisis with the physical world-he has developed an allergy to electricity. Louis attempts to evade the claustrophobic city and ends up in a small Texas town. There Louis meets Sarah(Tara Bast),a woman suffering from demons of her own. Sarah is a failed actress, forever believing that stardom is just within her grasp. She is bi-polar. Throw Doug(Jeff Kober),an alcoholic Native American in love with Sarah, into the mix and an emotional triangle of lust, longing, and betrayl comes to bear. Stewart,Bast, and Kober, under Johnson's pristine direction bring characters to life with an energy almost too strong for the screen to contain. This along with the struggle of how nature can affect the human condition makes World Without Waves a film that can only be considered one of the most startling, yet enigmatic,to hit the big screen in many years. This film should be viewed with an open mind and heart as it will be with you for a long period of time. This film will make you not only question your own existence, but that of the natural world and how the interaction of the two can often cause such disruption, but eventually find co-existence.
