Woodrow Wilson is my first public school to ever attend. Charter academies dont provide things the way Woodrow Wilson does. There is something for everyone at this school. Woodrow Wilson offers a variety of programs for college readiness, such as AVID, IB, and Dual Credit. The teachers all have their qualifications posted outside the classroom door. They have staff from all over Texas! I had never seen a school have so many sports to offer. Their football team is the biggest thing they have going on, but that doesn't mean their performing arts program is an opening act. I am part of the Woodrow Wilson Choir program, and our director is one of the most talented people I have ever met! Being part of choir is this immersive experience of community and creates a new sense of appreciation for the arts. I recently learned Woodrow Wilson's drone team is second in the world!Every year, there is a Welcome to Woodrow exhibition for middle schoolers interested in attending Woodrow. Come visit us!
WWHS has huge potential! Great parent base but could expand involvement by offering more inclusive events. The administration seems to be behind often. High enrollment has stretched the existing resources. WWHS is a great option for DISD.
I started high school during Covid so my experience was different. May programs were cancelled with no notice, like Orchestra. STEM classes were moved off campus requiring you to take a bus mid day to these classes. Many classes were tough either by an on-line teacher or a rotation of subs.
