Soon Carol finds herself in a lovely little seaside community about an hour’s drive outside the city. It is the perfect place to hide out. Except, no matter what Carol does, she does not feel safe. She feels that people are watching her and even following her.

The response from the police is to have her undergo facial reconstruction so that she can remain in hiding without being found out. The doctor they hire, a Dr. Stanley, however, also has ties to the Syndicate. And it is through this doctor’s efforts that Carol finds herself in the hands of the Syndicate.
