Dina is brutally honest and pulls no punches to protect people's feelings. She lacks conventional social graces and can come off as odd and severe. Does she keep dozens of birds in her home? Yes. Does she have an unseemly sense of excitement when she gets to catch a shoplifter or discipline a subordinate? Yes. But, Dina cares about justice and her friends. Plus, she's honestly hilarious. Dina would be the first person I'd pick to be on my dodgeball team or on my side in a bar fight. Plus, we are both vegetarians and would enjoy many meals out together.

Dwight is another character who lacks conventional social skills. Maybe I'm detecting a pattern here. He can be obtuse, irritating, and rigid. His habits from being raised by an Amish-adjacent farmer family can die hard, such as taking it upon himself to euthanize his girlfriend's sick cat. But, he's not without wonderful qualities. He's hardworking, a successful beet farmer, bed and breakfast owner, top paper salesman, and black belt in karate. His successful personality works for me because I like to surround myself with go-getters. He's also a very loyal friend who does right by the people he cares about. Who can forget how he helped a heartbroken Erin try to make Andy jealous, only for Andy to completely not notice or care? Dwight, realizing this, called Andy an "idiot" in Erin's defense.

Paris is another multifaceted character. She can be a bit of a hot head, competitive, and borderline paranoid in her distrust of others. However, once she lets you in, you have a friend for life. She will scare off the jerk who cheated on you in a heartbeat and knows the value of ordering an absurd amount of Chinese food for morale. She's an ambitious genius who also wants her friends to live to their fullest potential.

Best line: "I want to live my life so that I'll be able to read an in-depth biography about myself in later years and not puke".

When Paula is first introduced in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, she gave off bitter and meddling vibes. To be honest, I've worked with people like this and stayed far away. However, she won me over with that angry shimmy. Her character develops from a manipulative person with an inferiority complex to a loyal, assertive friend who fights for her dreams to become a lawyer. She's also ruthless in making sure her friends achieve everything they desire, even if that desire is stealing someone else's boyfriend.

Best line: "Maybe this dream won't poop on my face like a seagull at the beach".

Demitri is dorky, awkward, and at times lacks self-awareness. But, he's the most loyal and principled kid in the Cobra Kai universe, telling the truth even if it's unpopular. Demitri is the kid who confidently tells his bully, "At least I'm not an asshole". He seeks validation internally and works hard to become the best version of himself. Demitri is by far the most improved karate kid of the series. He began his martial arts career with a doctor's note excusing him from sparring but became one of the most ethical and strategic fighters. I think if Demitri was my friend in high school, those damned bus bullies wouldn't have gotten under my skin.
