Excellent recreation of the old fort. On the day we visited a blacksmith , a tailor and a storyteller were in residence. As well as children in period clothes running and playing. The museum is thankfully air conditioned and staffed by informative personnel. After a history lesson on the fur trading companies we watched a couple videos about the Fort and volunteers.

Very informative and nicely done interpretive center along with a pleasant walk along the river. This is a good spot to stop at on a trip to the Fort Union Trading Post.

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 12:30 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the main building. There were informational plaques located throughout the fort, that provided information on the various buildings that were once located inside. There was also a boardwalk type trail that brought you to all of the buildings in the fort. The field officers quarters housed the main museum in the fort. There were several rooms that contained numerous amounts of artifacts, along with informational plaques that detailed what life was like on the fort. I found the plaques to be very interesting! There was also a tour guide on site, who gave me a guided tour of the infantry barracks, dining/recreation room, and kitchen. The guide did a great job explaining what went on in each room. Behind the two main buildings were the power magazine storage building, guardhouse and guard building. Each building allowed you to go inside and see the different artifacts inside. Be aware- there are a lot of bugs on the trail! There was also a trail located across from the fort, that contained some additional plaques.

Tip: I recommend spending 3 hours here if you truly want to see everything.

Such a great place: a water park, gym, playland and more. Bring quarters for the lockers, your own towels and enjoy fun.

This was a very nice store to look around in. Larry was very nice and asked us where were from and wished us safe travels. I would recommend stopping in and look around, as there was a nice selection.

Myself and my husband stopped in to see if they could tell us anything we could do in one day. Vivian was great she told us about parks, statues, carvings, and helped us find a laser shooting range for my husband. She also told us about a very good restaurant.
So if you are ever in Williston ND go visit the centre and see Vivian.
They also have a nice little gift shop
Also some nice wooden statues outside

We played late in the afternoon on a 95F day. My friend couldn't take the heat so he quit after nine but I played the entire course. Course was in great shape and played well as long as we didn't get off the fairways. Greens were excellent. Would likely be difficult on a windy day. Highly recommended for challenging golf.
