Meet the Principal
Thank you for visiting our website. I want to share with you my background and some of the reasons why I am so fortunate to be here at Williston High School. I have been a lifelong resident of North Dakota and have been blessed to find that my great purpose is right here in Williston.
My educational teaching career began as a History teacher in Langdon, ND grades 7th through 12th. After teaching there for a few years, I moved to Surrey, ND, and taught history grades 7-12. It was during that time that I had the honor to be chosen as a Golden Apple recipient. During my time as a classroom teacher, I found that I had a growing desire to help all students succeed not only in academics, but also in all areas of their lives. I felt a calling to move into educational administration. After completing my Masters at University of Mary, I jumped in with both feet and accepted the position of High School Principal for Whitesheild HS in Whiteshield, ND. I enjoyed my time at Whiteshield High School but Williston has always been near and dear to me and so we moved back home to Williston. It was here at Williston High School that I headed down a new path accepting the position of Assistant Principal of Williston High School. After 10 years as Assistant Principal, I accepted a new position at the school and became the Principal of WHS. I have cherished every moment that I am able to spend with our students, parents and staff.
As Principal, I have devoted much of my time and effort to finding new ways to improve student success. Knowing all too well the kinds of social, emotional, and educational obstacles that our students may encounter in their lives continue to motivate me with renewed energy to match their dedication and perseverance. We strive to build a strong foundation with our students, parents, and community. I adopted our current school mantra when I became Principal of this amazing school: Coyotes, go make a difference!
I believe in our students and staff and know without a doubt that we will continue to support, teach, and guide our students in order to give them the tools they will need to be successful in every avenue of their lives.
