An excellent experience! Crew was amazing and very helpful! We are a family of 3 and our sone is 5 years old who was snorkling for the first time in his life. The Crew was so helpful and friendly and attentive, i greatly appreciate them! The boat is nice, the natural aspect was as expected with fishes and reel corals. It's very cool once in a life time experience! You get to do a glass boat as well and a wild fish feeding! Great Time and truly worth the money! THANK YOU!

I absolutely loved my trip on the Ocean Free sailboat tour! It was my first time snorkeling and first trip to the great barrier reef. I feel so blessed to have been on an intimate group tour; the Ocean Free can take up to 25 people on board and we had a group of 6! The guides were amazing, they made you feel safe and included in all the activities. The food on board was so yummy and you certainly won’t go hungry (there’s breakfast, lunch, multiple snacks, fruits, sweets, and wine!). The coral that we toured was vibrant and full of life, our group saw reef sharks, sea turtles, schools of fish, giant clams, etc. The boat also stopped over at Green Island for a couple hours.. steer clear from the crocodile exhibit, it is giving the same vibes as Sea World (iykyk). I would recommend this company to anyone looking for an intimate experience, the only downside is there were no photographers on board, but you can always take a trip down to Calypso Reef Imagery and Underwater Camera Hire for a GoPro rental :)

Great trip. Well organized and attentive crew. Did a certified dive and snorkeled. Dive was good, but snorkelling was terrific. Saw sharks (small ones), turtles, rays and lots of reef fish. Nice lunch and lots of snacks. Comfortable seating.

Spent the day on Ocean Free Sailing boat out to Green Island today. It was an awesome day, awesome crew and fantastic experience. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to bypass the crowds for a more unique sailing and snorkeling experience. Crew couldn’t be more helpful, snorkeling was great, food was great and will be back at some stage to do again. Amazing experience with the best staff. Weather was unfortunate but we still had a fab day. I did the intro scuba dive and Rose in particular really helped me overcome my fears and convinced me to do the dive - I’m so glad she put my mind at ease as it was so fun. It's been 2 months since I was on the Ocean Free and I'm still talking about it every day. First, in a huge industry of reef tours with huge boats stuffed with passengers, the Ocean Free was the experience I was looking for -- I think there were only 12 passengers and 3 crew (shout out to Skipper Jan and amazing crew members Yaya and T). I was extraordinarily lucky that I was the only one on the boat who was diving (all others were snorkeling), so I had the absolutely BEST dives with Yaya who took such good care of me (I'm an intro diver) and we had so much fun seeing such abundant sea life around the Green Island reefs. (Seriously, Yaya -- you're AMAZING!!!!) I even got to do a little extra snorkeling in between dives which was wonderful. The quick trip over to Green Island was nice and it is pretty there, but if I had to do it again, I would have stayed in the water the whole time instead. I don't remember what we ate, but I remember it was good, and I was very thankful for the fresh fruit which was a refreshing treat after diving. On the way home, Yaya and T were playing DJ and everyone on board was having a blast, dancing and singing along with them the whole way, finishing with a very energetic rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody as we pulled into the dock. It was the absolute perfect day.

Incredible experience and service with Ocean Free. It was our first time visiting the reef and I’m glad we sailed there. Very hospitable and attentive crew. They have a special mooring off Green Island away from the crowds. It allows you to explore the beautiful reef and its marine life with plenty of time and space. I would highly recommend them versus the other bigger companies.

Was a great tour, crew were helpful and knowledgeable of the reef. All of the crew got involved in ensuring we were all happy, when some members of crew were in the water helping out they were constantly looking for interesting things to show us (giant clams, turtles, sharks), and succeeded in showing us many great reef spectacles. The boat wasn't jammed with people either, you could freely walk around without having to dodge people, which when reading reviews of other reef tours, can be an issue. There are a lot of reef tours to pick from, but this was one I'd recommend for the areas we explored and the crew alone.

Had a great experience doing a scuba and snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef! Anna was so helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone but especially people who want to scuba but lack certification.

Une journée inoubliable ! Grace à une équipe très pro et aux petits soins de la dizaine de touristes, nous avons passé une journée merveilleuse.De longues heures de snorkling, accompagnés par notre guide ou en liberté (selon votre niveau/envie), et une petite halte sur Green Island, pour se dégourdir les jambes bien que les récifs soient bien plus beaux que l’île (trop touristique à notre goût)Malgré le temps, le skipper à tenter le retour à la voile mais cela n’a pas été possible, c’est le risque !Seul petit bémol, un petit manque de sensibilisation sur l’enjeu de préservation de ce récif, mais en posant la question, le sujet fut abordé.Les rares commentaires négatifs ne reflètent pas du tout notre expérience.

We had a fabulous time scuba diving. It had been six years since we’ve been diving so my husband and I were both a little nervous. Amber took incredible care of us. She was the dive master we went down with, and she made it so easy and we felt really comfortable. We got to see a turtles, giant stingrays, clown fish, giant clams and tons of other fish. There were some really large barracudas that just hung by the boat. They fed us huge seafood lunch, all you can eat. They also brought us lots of snacks during the day fruit, cakes, and other yummy items. I would definitely recommend booking with this company. Everyone was friendly. We met a lot of fun people and just had a great time.

Remarkable tour with the most wonderful crew. The reef was incredible and there were plenty of crew to allow all of the passengers to go where they please when snorkelling and aboard the boat. The crew also rescued some snorkellers from another boat, it was great to see how much they cared about the reef and it's visitors, not just their customers. I have asthma and the skipper- Matt took extra care of me checking in a few times while I'm in the water to make sure I was okay.Highly recommended the Ocean Free to anyone wanting an intimate experience and a chill day on the water. The boat is a much smaller sailboat rather than the big yachts you see, so it was extremely peaceful.

We booked a day trip with Ocean Freedom and we had an amazing time! The crew were so lovely and keen for everyone to have a good time. We had a group that were very mixed in terms of confidence swimming on the reef. My partner and I did the intro dives and my in-laws stuck to snorkelling. One of our party was a bit anxious when it came to getting in the water, but the snorkel guides were really supportive and understanding. Food was pretty good and plenty of snacks. Boat itself was clean and modern. Only thing is that the intro dives were pretty short and I’m not sure we saw much more than snorkelling. Other than that, could not recommend enough!

We had an absolutely amazing day on Ocean Free today! The crew were first class and so friendly. We booked the same tour 6 years ago, and now being again in Cairns it was clear for us that we have to repeat the same experience, there are many good reasons to book the tour with them: Firstly, the boat is smaller, being the capacity reduced and not making the reef and the experience so crowded. Secondly, all the crew are very nice and pleasant, they are all the time taking care of passengers, being sure that we feel comfortable on the boat and in the water. And lastly, the food offer is also one of the best, I especially love the fresh fruits and cheese snacks while returning to the port :)Thanks to all the crew for such a nice experience again!

The boat never felt crowded, there was room to hangout on the open deck areas or the air conditioning. Plenty of snacks and lunch included; having a beer option was nice once we were done in the water. We saw everything from clown fish to barracuda. So much fun!

We had an amazing time on the ocean freedom snorkel and scuba tour. I was able to dive twice with Anna who was amazing and created an extremely memorable experience for my first time scuba diving. The rest of the team was fantastic as well. They were extremely attentive and helpful to myself and my wife the entire trip. We highly recommend the tour! This is our first trip to the GBR and chose a smaller intimate cruise experience. It was a great mixture of people too; young to older and the crew were accommodating to all of us! It is capped at 75; but today we had about 35 on boardDiving was broken in the groups at a 2:1 ratio! Alexa headed them out over the 3 hours at the first stop and 2.5 hours at the second stop with 30min transit between sides of Upolu Reef.Snorkeling. We were blessed with minimal winds and current today so visibility and snorkeling was at a very leisure pace. It did make the drift snorkeling a swim snorkel more than drifting, but Amber was awesome in helping folk out while guiding us all along the outer wall..and even finding us Nemo! The free swim was great and SO MUCH FISH and time to explore.Food. It kept coming! Boarding pastries and coffee/tea. Seafood Buffet lunch. Fruit and cheese and dessert platters on the way back. Bar after 1130a (additional fee). They even made accommodations for our son's special needs without batting an eye.Service/Crew. Impeccable. They rotate between their two boats and our crew was incredible. Blair on board was constantly checking on everyone, Alexa doing the dives and Amber helping everyone have a snorkeling adventure of their life. I forget the guys and skipper's name! sorry! They were ever attentive in setup and getting everyone into/out of the water efficiently and calmly, making it extremely stress free day!Bonus: turtle, GT, and large barracuda at the 2nd site. That was fun and made our son's day on top of the Nemo clown fish findings.This was an amazing tour. You will not be disappointed.

Ein großartiger Tag, eine mega-tolle Tour auf der Ocean Freedom! Ich habe mich bewusst für eine kleinere Tour mit etwa 30-35 Gästen entschieden.Meine erste Tour zum Great Barrier Reef, mein erster Tauchgang nach 25 Jahren - ein fantastisches Erlebnis, das ich nicht vergessen werde. Auch, weil die Crew sehr freundlich und immer professionell war.Tauch-Instructor Marten: Ich fühlte mich in jeder Sekunde zu 100 Prozent sicher!!!Kapitän und Co-Kapitän Mike und Jan: freundlich, witzig, hilfsbereit: sie haben sogar meine defekte Kamera repariert!!! Danke! Paul war überall zur Stelle, auch mit guten Tipps beim Schnorcheln. Das Essen war sehr gut. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen! Danke!!!

My family & I enjoyed this reef experience with Ocean Freedom to Upolu Cays Reef and would highly recommend booking them to anyone. With thirty customers on board plus crew it made for a fairly intimate experience. The crew were professional, attentive and friendly, supporting all customers with their needs and safety. Also able to answer any questions we had regarding the reef environment and species. Lunch and snacks were great. We were blessed with a sunny clear and glassy day and stoked on spotting lots of cool marine life. Swimming with a large turtle, GT and Barracuda were a highlight. We enjoyed the trip out & back and didn't find it too long. It was our teenage Son's first time experiencing the great barrier reef and he was so pumped and just loved it.

experience that I recommend, whether for diving or just snorkeling, the staff is fantastic and always smiling friendly. we went to two reefs, one tending towards green, the other towards blue with different colors of corals, we spent many hours on the ocean, from 9 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon, the buffet was very good with attention to vegans, breakfast, fruit, lunch, dessert.

The nicest most friendly crew and such a great vibe onboard ! Only 20 passengers so there were more than enough staff to allow anyone to do what they wanted regardless of if we were swimming, scuba diving or sitting on the boat due to seasickness. Open to all levels of swimming skills and time to go off on your own or stick with a tour around the reef. The food was amazing and like a hotel buffet. We saw a shark, turtle, clams and loads of diverse fish. Honestly a must sea (pardon the pun) and a better alternative to bigger boats especially since it’s family run. We met two forever friends on this boat!

Fantastic experience! Crew are all super helpful and friendly! I was nervous as it was my first time diving, the instructor is very gentle and very professional! One instructor is holding on to two divers only, so I felt very safe, and the instructor kept checking if we were ok in the water. The diving was very smooth and we saw a lot of amazing fish and reef! One of the best experiences!

Super journée sur le voilier Ocean Free avec le skipper Pascal (francophone) et son équipage de trois jeunes femmes compétentes et accueillantes. Tout était parfait, service à bord, la restauration comprise et surtout la plongée avec masque et tuba sur la barrière de corail. Nous avons vu une multitude de poissons colorés et deux tortues. Amazing tour, crew, and experience! Booked ocean freedom and this was my first time scuba diving. I did 2 intro dives - it was so fun and easy to be comfortable in the water with the help of the crew. Want to give a huge shout-out to Blair especially for constant encouragement and an amazing dive experience together. Saw so many fish and other organisms underwater. Was extremely memorable and highly recommend this tour! Light breakfast was provided as well as a big selection for lunch and dessert/fruit. Amount of people per tour was a great ratio as well.

It's risky booking an excursion from half the world away. We had 2 days in Cairns and wanted to make the very most of it. The reviews for Ocean Freedom were excellent (4.7 on over 1,000).We absolutely were not disappointed! Visiting the Great Barrier Reef with Ocean Freedom was excellent!!! From the moment we boarded, the staff was attentive, funny, friendly and so helpful! (Mike, Pascal, Molly, Rose, and many others) When my wife was sick, they took excellent care of her. They were patient with us. The boat and equipment was SO clean. The food was quality (you might not expect that on a boat excursion). The reef diving site was excellent. I highly recommend. The photo does not do the GB reef justice, but gives you an idea.

Super Organisation, sehr nette und zuvorkommende Kapitän und seine Mädchen Power Crew. Es gab sehr viel zu sehen aber für mich am erstaunlichesten Haie in Ihrem Lebensraum. Es war möglich schnuppern tauchen und da waren auch Meeres Schildkröte zu sehen.Grüne insel ist wunderschön mit tropischen Wald und ein Krokodil Reservat mit fütterungszeiten um 13.30 was für Kinder sehr interessant war auch für Erwachsenen. Haie schwimmen direkt am Strand und niemand kümmert es .Unmöglich dieses Gefühl zu beschreiben. Auf dem Boot gab es kompetente Beratung für alles und alle untersilien die man braucht sogar Sonnen Cremeum sonst zu Verfügung. Es gab ganzen Tag was zu essen Frühstück, Obst sehr umfangreiches Mittagessen und nachmittags wieder Käse ,crecker ,Obst und kuchen. Wasser, Tee, Kaffee kostenlos andere Getränke meiner Meinung zum Preis vom 3 Euro sehr günstig. Alles in allem ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Ich war auf Ocean free mit 25 Gästen und fühlte mich als allein Reisende super aufgehoben. Danke

We had the most incredible day scuba diving and snorkelling! The instructors were amazing and we felt so safe going down with them and saw so much marine life at the spot they took us too from turtles to nemos! The day was run so smoothly with delicious food and snacks throughout the trip and the guides and skipper were so friendly and helpful - will be back to go again!

This was our best snorkel experience in the Great Barrier Reef. We had clear visibility and saw an abundance of fish, coral, sharks, and sea turtles. After lunch, we popped onto Green Island and toured the Marineland Melanesia (crocodile sanctuary) to see Cassius and croc feeding. The staff is so wonderful and knowledgeable and ensured a fun and chill day at sea. Highly recommend Ocean Free!

It was Sunday, May 28, and one of my biggest dreams came through - The Great Barrier Reef. I don´t usually write reviews, which is evidenced by my writing this one so late, but this time I do - the experience is still alive within me.There are tons of tour agencies out there and it´s easy to get overwhelmed. I would encouradge everyone to spend a bit more time and choose well. Don´t pick randomly or get caught on a discount. Choose wisely instead - environmentally friendly company, professional crew with "gills between the fingers" :-) that make you feel safe even if it´s your first dive. Moreover board is not packed with people, thanks to which (not only) there is an wonderful, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They are extremely passionate about what they do.Besides, I appreciate being able to spend plenty of time in water. I literally spent whole day by snorkeling. Plus scuba diving on top of it.The experience on board the Ocean Freedom by far exceeded all of my expectations.Thank you crew, for absolutely incredible experience!!!PS: I would like to named individually, but forgot. I remenber though, that was crew of captain Ben (Cruise Ocean Freedom - Upolu Reaf).

highly recommend this trip. Led by Mike, the skipper, the crew were amazing - super helpful and knowledgeable. A great day on the reef - snorkelling with black tip sharks, turtles and a huge assortment of colourful reef fish. No crowds, small group, great food, very enjoyable and relaxing. We were lucky enough to sail with Perry and Tarryn the owners - wish them all the best with their endeavours to bring electric marine vessels to Cairns. Would definitely recommend Ocean Free for the first time diver! The one instructor per two diver ratio was perfect for an intro diver to feel comfortable and to ease into their first diving experience. The sailboat ride was great and relaxing especially due to the 25 person maximum, but was notably slower than the other boat tours available, so the reef that was visited was much closer to Cairns than other tours

What a great day out on the reef, the sailing experience was amazing, the boat doesn't take a lot of people, makes it very intimate and the staff has a complete focus on the customers.I would definitely recommend Ocean Free to visit the reef, green island, snorkeling and for people who want to discover scuba diving. Well organized and operated. Very safe. If you a prone to motion sickness be aware of ocean conditions. Several got seasick. The reefs we visited were ok. Would have been much better on a calm day.

Went on the Sail boat. WOW. From the start, greeted by awesome staff with coffee and fruits. Then going to snorkle at the great barrier reef. It was an experience I never knew I needed to see. A very special thanks to Tom, who was very helpful and patient with me being nervous (didn't realise I had a lil fear with deep ocean till I was in the deep ocean 😅). All in all good food, good company, will do again and tell anyone who has an ear to do the same.

Ottima esperienza! Personale simpatico, competente e super gentile! in grado di mettere a proprio agio anche chi non è avvezzo allo snorkeling. Vengono fornite mute in neoprene, maschera, boccaglio e giubbotto salvagente per entrare in acqua in tutta sicurezza. Inoltre sono sempre vigili e attenti mentre le persone sono in acqua. Ricordiamoci che siamo comunque in mezzo all’oceano.Un ringraziamento particolare a Kelly per il supporto e l’aiuto che ha dato, essendo la prima nostra esperienza di snorkeling nell’oceano. Bravi! The crew were so lovely and accomodating, and did everything they could to ensure we had the best time, and point out lots of interesting things in the corals 🐠🪸We were lucky to sea a turtle, plenty of colourful fish, starfish, and a octopus! Hemos visto un montón de peces de colores hasta un pez payaso, una almeja gigante, estrellas marinas azules preciosas, etc.Toda la tripulación estupendísima, han hecho todo lo posible para que lo disfrutáramos, nos han ayudado a ver todo, muy atentos y amables.Si os da miedo no os preocupéis de nada. Lo hacen todo muy muy fácil para los turistas. Traje de neopreno, chaleco que te ayuda a flotar están todo el rato pendientes.Nos cuidaron muy bien en todo.No lo dudéis. I was looking for sail option to reef and came across Ocean Free. Crew are great and with max 25 on board, opportunity to chat with others or just take in the trip.As a bonus to the sailing they also offer snorkel and diving. I booked the 2x intro SCUBA dives. You dive arm in arm with an instructor, who make sure you’re comfortable the whole way. Two dives worked well for me as the first was distracted by process - and settling the breathing down😀. Second dive was much more relaxed and could take in the experience. Well worth doing if you’ve never dived before.Reef colour is not as vibrant as outer reef, but plenty of marine life. Black tipped reef sharks, turtle, clownfish, giant clam and many other fish.On return trip with sails up and engine off, we were treated to a glass of wine. A good end to a great day. 👍👍

Fantastic crew was extremely passionate about what they do. They made everyone comfortable and were enthusiastic with teaching novices all about snorkeling and the reef. Their reef knowledge was excellent. The section of the reef they have access to was amazing, saw so many beautiful fish.The boat and facilities were great too. For snorkeling, snorkels, wet suits, and flippers were included. Smaller boat which means more crew per person. The food was good with lots of selection and snacks. Very attentive to food restrictions.I would recommend this group for reef tours completely.

The crew for Ocean Freedom were great. Unfortunately we had a very windy day with a high swell. It made the day challenging and we needed to take sea sickness tablets but the crew did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and still had a good day.DONT FORGET TO SUNSCREEN THE BACKS OF YOUR LEGS! I’m usually not one to post a review unless I REALLY loved something, and boy, did I love my full day experience with Ocean Freedom. It was my first time visiting the Great Barrier Reef, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The crew members were helpful and cheerful all the way, and Pascal, the skipper, had a great personality and took really good care of all the customers, ensuring that we had a safe experience. The lunch was delicious, and both locations they took us for snorkeling were great in their own way. All the included snorkeling masks and flippers were in good condition. Oh, I can’t forget to mention the cheese and the cake at the end! It was through and through a lovely, small grouped experience. Would definitely recommend :)

Had the best time with Ocean Freedom. A lot of experience, friendlyness and humour from the crew.During the day we had two stops out in the reef and a smörgåsboard of seafood, chicken and salad. Some fruit, cheese and crackers, and some dessert was provided during the day.The crew was super all around both on the boat and in the water.

We had the best day. The crew on board were fantastic. The spot they moored off Green Island was so close to the reef you could almost stand on it. Snorkeling and diving was brilliant. Lunch on board is very impressive. We met some lovely people from all over the world. Sailing back at under full sail with a lovely glass of wine was exhilarating and exciting. Thanks to all the staff and crew. You made the day for us so easy from booking to leaving. We didn’t want to leave.

We went on this reef cruise today and it was fantastic! The guides were incredible and the food was great- and there was loads of it! We went on a different snorkeling trip yesterday to Green Island and it was nothing compared to Ocean Freedom. The guides were in the water with us showing us all the fish and marine life. Definitely skip Green Island and go with Ocean Freedom!!!!

My wife, daughter and myself went out on Ocean Freedom on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. A great day - the Captain and crew were unbelievably helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. Once at the reef a guided glass bottom boat trip then onto with the snorkelling or SCUBA if you wanted. The food was high quality and heaps for everyone. When you thought it was over out came the cheese and biscuits followed by cake. I’ve been on a number of boat tours around the world and this is by far the best. It is highly recommend. Lastly a shout out to crewman Tom who was very patience with my wife and helped her snorkelling experience.

We just spent the day on the Ocean Freedom and it far exceeded our expectations! The team are so friendly and welcoming and just genuinely nice people. Having a smaller group setting makes it so much more personal. We were served an amazing breakfast/morning tea, delicious lunch of seafood, meats and yummy salads and 3 courses of amazing afternoon tea. What an amazing day on the reef with the Ocean Freedom crew. We were inexperienced snorkelers but we loved how we could explore the reef at our own pace. Getting to see two reef locations made it a great experience. The crew put on a delicious lunch and catered for us all day with fresh fruit and other platters. The day was capped off when I went to pay for our drinks and the crew had wiped our bar tab and presented us a certificate to congratulate my wife and I on our honeymoon. Personalised Service is only one of the many wonderful experiences we had at The Great Barrier Reef. We enjoyed every minute of our experience with you guys. The day was picture perfect & the staff were super chilled & super helpful. The food was awesome from the fruit & pastries, to a great spread for lunch right through to crackers & cheeses, fruit & even cake. We could get a nice cold beer as well.

We were fortunate to go on both Ocean Free & Freedom and had amazingly beautiful days snorkelling in pristine conditions. I can't speak highly enough of the crew, their priority was fun and safety. Thank you to "welsh" Liam ( I was considering a dive on Freedom if you were there), Matt (great to see you again for both days), skipper Pascal, Chris, "Pete" & skipper Ben. I highly recommend!

We waited to find the right reef tour until we arrived in Cairns, the amount of tours pulled up by online searches were overwhelming, and it felt impossible to know what was a tourist trap, and what was not.
When getting to Cairns we settled on Ocean Freedom, and I’m pretty glad we did! They take a much smaller number of passengers than the other tours, and it meant a lot of one on one time with the crew, and that it was easy to get to know the other passengers if you wanted to.
The entire tour the crew are super personable, attentive, and vigilant in making sure that everyone on board is having a good time. My partner and I were both quite nervous, especially once seeing how deep the water was (it was high tide) in some areas we had to snorkel through before getting to the reef. Whilst I found myself managing pretty well after a couple of minutes, and for the rest of the day, my partner had a pretty big spook about the whole thing, and wasn’t really comfortable with getting into the water for the rest of the day.
The crew were so understanding, and handled the whole situation spectacularly. My partner has since told me that he received consolation and offers to make getting into the water more comfortable for him on multiple occasions from multiple staff. Even through all of that, my partner still wasn’t quiet prepared to get into the water again unfortunately, but that was purely his choice, and doesn’t reflect on Ocean Freedom at all. Even though he didn’t get back into the water, he still says he really enjoyed himself, getting to spot multiple turtles from the boat, and enjoying a couple of the glass bottom boat tours also offered by the crew.
Lunch was also great, my only regret was not signing up to scuba, I would have loved it.
Something for future passengers to consider, would be the tide. If you can organise it to be on a lower tide, do that! Obviously not always possible, but if you can catch the low tide, that would be awesome!

Absolutely recommend Perry and the team for a great day sailing. We enjoyed seeing some great snorkelling spots and loved the experience of sailing as opposed to sitting like sardines on a much bigger, sterile vessel. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the food is a plenty! do it!!

This was a fantastic day out. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the service was excellent. There was plenty room on the boat and loads of time in the water. And the food was good too. It was a bit more expensive than some of the other reef tours but well worth it!

We enjoyed A1 friendly service and an absolutely perfect and memorable experience. I felt completely at ease with the competent staff assisting me with every step I made both on and off the boat. Lunch was delicious and expertly organised. I appreciate the hard work that goes into preparing and executing a safe and enjoyable experience for a large quantity of diverse individuals...you all did this amazingly well. a big shout out to my wonderful support man Liam on Monday 21/6. The best belated 60th birthday present was being up close and witnessing the resident turtle feeding.

What a spectacular day. All the crew were amazing. Chris helping Chaise 13 with his first dive- he went in for second dive he had such a great time. Liam was incredible with Chloe 10- snorkelling and giving her so much information about the reef. Every staff member was exceptional, friendly and helpful. Constantly offered food and drink. Best day trip we’ve ever done.

Fantastic day - not only was the reef magnificent but the crew was so friendly and helpful, and the food was plentiful and delicious. We snorkelled 3 times and went in the glass bottom boat, saw so many fish, corals, reef sharks and a turtle. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

I had the most fantastic experience with the very friendly & professional crew on Ocean Freedom! I saw the most beautiful reef fish, a reef shark, a magnificent turtle munching on algae, a stingray & stunning coral. I would absolutely recommend this Far North QLD reef tour! The crew are helpful, snorkel with you & educate you on what beauty is below the surface! The food was also delightful. Would go out again in a heartbeat - the highlight of my holiday! Thanks guys! Absolutely recommend this trip. Had an amazing day. The crew were awesome, always checking everyone was safe and happy. They made sure we saw the best of the reef and were knowledgeable and attentive. Weather was perfect, plenty to eat and drink.

Had an amazing day out at the Great Barrier Reef today and couldn’t have asked for a better crew Sophie taught us how to scuba and was absolutely amazing and understanding she made us comfortable and took it slow with us. Scott was a great skipper and the whole team was super friendly and funny. Made the whole experience very welcoming. We were able to stop at two areas today to explore what this beautiful place has to offer and lunch on the cruise, and snacks throughout the day. The crew also taught us about the wildlife and cool facts along the way. Would highly recommend these guys!

Wow u guys totally nail the whole reef experience! From the safety briefing to the cake before disembarking, it was all first class. My wife and I have done a lot of travel and tourism activities going back decades and we know a happy team when we see one. A big bravo to the Ocean Freedom team, it was a wonderful way to start 2021!!!!!

What a fantastic day guys. You made us feel so safe and welcome onboard your boat and in the water all day. The crew were always looking out for us and making sure we new what was happening and how to use all the gear they gave us. If you have never been to the Great Barrier Reef, or been swimming with the wonderfull sea creatures in Tropical North Queensland these are the people you want to do it with. Our many snorkels were wonderful with great comentary and guidance if desired. All the crew were so knowledgeable about the reef and its inhabitants. Scuba dives with Lou & Rose were so good great guides and they were so caring fot all divers.
Food was fabulous and there was plenty to go around.

The whole experience was first class, from booking the tickets to our welcome onto the the boat. Our day trip to the reef was memorable- the crew’s service, expertise and knowledge were exceptional. The fit out of the boat is quality and the food was sensational.

Had a lovely day aboard Ocean Freedom. The crew were all very lovely and knowledgeable. They were happy to drag us around the ocean as it was a bit choppy in the first location. All the staff were happy to explain about the fish and point things out. A great day out. Highly recommended.

I was booked on this tour by my travel agent. I had found another cruise by decided to let the agent do the booking work for me. My tour was on 12th August.
From the moment of checking in, I was treated like a VIP for a day. A joke of "permission to come aboard" at the pier started a relaxing day of cruising the reef, 2 introduction dives of scuba diving, snorkelling, great food, and even better, fantastic staff.
I had not dived since 1987 and my instructor Jen took me through the process and I was both excited and nervous about entering the water. Jen made me completely at ease, and I loved every second of my two dives.

We just can't say enough about these guys! The crew were just BLOODY AWESOME! They took us to a place on the reef that wasn't heavily populated by other tour boats so we were spoilt for choice. We got to spend 6 hours in the water snorkelling. There were always guides with us showing us around and sharing information about the marine life around us. Glass bottom boat tours were included.
In between we were kept well fed and watered. Lunch was really good. Simple food, seafood, cold meats and salads but fresh and good quality👍 Morning and afternoon tea was also provided.
The boat wasn't overly packed out either. Plenty of room to move around. If you have 1, DEFINITELY bring a GoPro with you. I hung out with a green sea turtle for a good half an hour and wish I could've captured some of that experience.

of all the tour choices for seeing and experiencing the reef, we were somehow lucky enough to have found THE BEST! From beginning to end, the most professional crew , and pristine boat ( we were on the power cat). we had a personal dive master Yatti, who's expertise and direction made us feel safe and well looked after! Thanks heaps mate! Rosie led our guided snorkelling tour and was extremely knowledgeable about the reef, and pointed out all the highlights! Didn't miss a thing! The food aboard was top notch too.. 5 plus stars out of 5!! what a team!

I was not a confident snorkeller and mainly booked so my hubby could have his great barrier reef experience, but ended up getting involved and absolutely loving it!

What a great experience!! What they tell you in their brochure is what you get for the full 100% and more! Paul gave us a briefing of the day which he did with a lot of humor. When we got to the reef we started off with the glass bottom boat. Lou was amazing she explained everything you needed to know about the reef. Doing this first was great because you knew what to expect. After that we jumped into the water for some snorkeling for more than 2 hours. We went on a snorkel tour with Mat which was great. He showed us everything we needed to see. After the tour you could explore the reef by yourself. When we got back on the boat a perfect lunch was prepared for us with prawns, smoked salmon, chicken and some nice salads.
After lunch we headed off to another spot where we again snorkeled for about 2 hours.
After this we cruised back to harbour with fruit and snack served.
Overall.... it was an amazing day!

One of the best dive crew I've been out with. Went for my honeymoon and then took my kids out with these guys. Exceptional if I times, the crew are amazing. Genuinely friendly, go out of their way to help and to chat with you and the boat (Ocean Free) makes for a perfect small size trip. I've seen reef sharks, turtles, rays and so many different species of fish on the beautiful reef out near Green Island with these guys, their divers really k ow the area well. They took my 7yo and 4yo out snorkelling too over the reef and they loved it! I'll be back again next year for sure.

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a great day snorkeling and diving - my first time swimming in the ocean I might add. Felt very safe with the crew. highly recommend!

Best tour to go to! The instructors were awesome and the views were amazing. Tried my first time scuba diving and it was just unreal. Would do again!

First time diving and couldn’t have asked for better staff. Chris was patient and guided us past the nerves. We had a great time. Ben and Eva were fantastic. If you are looking for a smaller group tour and excellent service then go here. Also the food was fantastic. We had lunch, later we stopped for wine and cheese, and before returning we finished off with dessert. We definitely had an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

My friend and I took a snorkeling tour with them today and it was AWESOME! The staff were the BEST! They were very attentive to everyone’s level of snorkeling and diving! The worked very hard! The food they served was also amazing! They had coffee and pastries for breakfast, served lunch and it wasn’t sandwiches, served cheese and crackers throughout trip along with fruit, figs, deserts and whatever you water along with other drinks!! I would highly recommend them! You would be missing out on a great experience if you didn’t book with them! Thanks to all for a spectacular day!!

my mum and mines first experience and what an experience! staff so welcoming and made us feel at ease while both doing our scuba, we would of tested patience with our learning skills but we did not feel judged!! Fab day, and great instructors 😁 def recommend for newbies that want a small group!! PS the food was amazing too. What a day, thank you Ocean Free!

I've been trying to break my wife into scuba and needed to find a charter that would take good care of her. Ocean Free did not disappoint. For her first dive ever they took great care to make sure she felt confident in the water and that we all had an amazing experience. The crew was nothing short of exceptional and diving the reef was the experience of a lifetime. The excursion to Green Island and the crocodile park was a nice bonus for those less inclined to be in the water as well. Couldn't be happier.
