Wildparkstadion, home ground of the local football club Karlsruher SC, is a football stadium located near Karlsruhe palace. There have been several football pitches at this location since 1922 but the stadium we see today was built in 1955 and has undergone several major renovations since. The stadium now promises of modern and comfortable facilities for the sport and is considered architecturally and functionally above the average standards of the Bundesliga. Wildparkstadion has hosted six international games till date, all of them won by Germany. This place derives its name from the Wildpark, a former deer park, which it was a part of.
