Only people good at sports are the women's teams. There are so many people it is almost too crowded, they talk about the nursing major being so good, it is average.
It's a very quiet area and lots of convenient sites around from where I live. It's easy to get to class and where I live work is only 10 minutes away.
Illinois State University (ISU) provided me with an enriching academic journey marked by diverse experiences and opportunities for personal and professional growth. One of the aspects I appreciated most about my time at ISU was its vibrant and inclusive community. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I felt welcomed and embraced by both faculty and fellow students. The sense of belonging fostered an environment conducive to learning and collaboration, where ideas flowed freely and diverse perspectives were valued. The quality of education at ISU was exceptional. The faculty members were not only knowledgeable in their respective fields but also deeply invested in their students' success. Although the university boasts modern amenities and well-maintained buildings, there is always room for improvement in terms of accessibility, sustainability, and technological advancements.
I choose Illinois State University because I felt like there was a sense of belonging here that I didn't see at any other college I visited. It is a small enough school where you can make so many connections by knowing the right people. Everyone has their place at Illinois State due to all the clubs established on campus. The city of Bloomington-Normal has numerous job opportunities and internships that drew me into the community.
I have enjoyed my time at Illinois State as a transfer student. The academics are pretty good and there are many opportunities for internships.
My experience with Illinois State University is that being able to feel welcomed and starting off in a a new place in life was better than expected. Not having that many friends or knowing people was made easy through the amount of clubs and the secure social spaces that are at Illinois State University. The cafeteria food at Illinois State was better freshman year but this sophomore year it was not to a level that I thought. Ever since I switched majors, I have been able to have a balance of studying and having a better social life with a mix of having a better mental health overall. Overall, my freshman and sophomore year have been going great and I felt like I made the right decision to go to Illinois State University.
I have really enjoyed my time at Illinois State University. I have been able to make a variety of connections with others on campus while I expand my extensive academic experience. I have encountered many professors who are dedicated to their jobs of elevating their students' success.
I really value the academics here at this school and how welcoming most of the professors are. I also really appreciate how accommodating the resources are here there a lot of places you can go and get tutoring if you need help. I feel as though the university needs a little bit of work on trying to help with diversity. I feel it is very secluded here and a lot of people feel like they don't fit in or can't find there place they belong. The town is pretty nice they have a lot of resteraunts here but it is just a normal midwestern town.
Overall I'd give it like a 7/10. Nothing jumps out in any particular way but it is a good university, has my major, some of the people are cool(just like any where else), and I've been lucky enough to have some super cool teachers but also some who aren't so great.
This is a great school! The people are nice and Bloomington-Normal is a really nice place to live. Lots of good places to eat and plenty to do.
ISU was the best financial option for me, but it also turned out to be the best personal option because o it surrounded with me with mentors that were excited for everyone's success.
I really like the people I met on campus. Everyone is very kind. Something that stuck out to me is my RA. She is very nice and helps me issues I come across. Also, housing is very nice and repair men come in a timely manner when I put work orders in. The housing is a very nice experience and has made my transition to college much easier.
I just transferred in here, and I am already in love. I would like to see more scholarships for transfer students.
I have had a great experience at ISU. I really like the dorms and the sense of community. Most of my professors have been passionate and understanding, and the campus is clean and organized. I would like to see better food options at dining halls/better food in general. The food always tastes like its been left out for hours and seems unattended. I would also like more organized activities. The activities that I've attended have been messy and overwhelming, and not exactly "fun".
Illinois State University has felt like home since I first stepped foot on campus. The classes are just the right amount of difficulty and the housing and dining are very good. I recommend ISU to all my friends.
I love Illinois State University I am heavily involved on campus as I am apart of Greek life while also being a full time student.
Illinois state university is an interesting school definitely a party school, but when it comes to classes and professors, I haven’t come across any that I don’t like or that were rude to me. It wasn’t willing to help me. All the teachers that I’ve had have been willing to help me and go the extra mile to make sure I understand their work.
