From Inside Radio: The FCC released its review of the 1,282 applications that were submitted earlier this month during the first filing window for noncommercial FMs in more than a decade. The Media Bureau spent the past few weeks analyzing the applications and has identified 883 applications from 231 different groups that have turned in what amounts to requests for the same signals.

To resolve those conflicts, the FCC has opened a 60-day settlement window where it hopes the competing applicants will voluntarily reach settlement agreements or submit to the Media Bureau technical amendments to resolve conflicts and potentially allow more than one broadcaster to emerge a victor.
