Audience Member Amazon suggested this garbage. Don't spend a second on it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Rival pimp guy came in clutch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member very well done not a big budget but big ideas and that's more important Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Fresh take on the standard "street life" movie. Keke Palmer is unrecognizable. Amazing portrayal of the tortured young woman. Supporting cast, especially the actress portraying her mother, give layered and honest performances. Even DMX seems in his natural element, hardening to his "Belly" roots. Story is somewhat predictable, with tragedy all around, but the journey to the end gives depth to the societal pressures young women face in those environments. The acting overshadows that, though. Full marks for the acting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It's refreshing to have queer representation where the arc of the story is not about them being LGBT. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was horrible. I do t like keke palmer's role at all it gave me a new view on her. The movie was pathetic and a pure stereotypical cliche Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mackenzie MacDade Autostraddle It's clear every actor involved was deeply committed to not just their characters, but to the narrative. Dec 28, 2018 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times "Pimp" is too one-note and grinds its way somewhat drearily to an inevitably bloody conclusion. Nov 17, 2018 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times The movie might leave you drained and disgusted, yet it also serves as a reminder that Palmer (whose last notable feature, "Akeelah and the Bee," was 12 years ago) is an unusually intense talent who deserves a much better vehicle than this one. Nov 17, 2018 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A snappy one-note lesbian love story set in the mean Bronx streets, that sells its ass as a sleazy '70s blaxploitation film. Rated: C+ May 8, 2019 Full Review Louise Keller Urban Cinefile Sex, murder and dark secrets are the key ingredients of the tale that begins when Sarah (Ella Scott Lynch) meets Lewis (Benedict Samuel) for a potential night of passion. Mar 6, 2019 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Palmer's committed portrayal generates sympathy more than the lurid screenplay, which feels like an inauthentic glimpse into life on the streets.
