Mark is an exceptionally talented self-taught photographer who delights in taking portraits in simple settings and extracting every last ounce of colour, texture and, crucially, natural light. Mark works with a simple entry level Canon EOS 550D (so nothing flashy), and a variety of lenses, though mainly a standard 50mm f1.8 lens. He also enjoys Polaroid cameras and a variety of older film cameras. His personal photographic journey started when he was bought the wonderful Olympus Trip for his 12th birthday.

Mark's ability to take an ordinary location, an unpromising day and a tired model and make the picture sing is down to his meticulous preparation. Before he takes a picture he knows what he is looking for and prepares by talking the shot through with his models and bringing the appropriate accessories.
