Greetings Texan Family,

Keoshya Dunn is the proud Principal of Audrey H. Lawson Middle School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Texas Southern University and her Executive Master of Business Administration from Colorado Technical University. Ms. Dunn began her career 17 years ago as an eighth-grade Math Teacher in Alief ISD.  She joined team HISD in 2017 as a Teacher Specialist at Lawson Middle School, where she supported the campus in moving out of an "Improvement Required" status in one year with double-digit gains in the mathematics department in which she led.  Her experience ranges from Math Teacher Leader, Department Chair, Math Specialist, and Dean of Instruction.  Ms. Dunn was also named A180 First Year Assistant Principal of the Year in 2019-2020, First Year Principal of the Year for the South Area in 2020-2021, and the HISD Secondary Principal of the Year in the 2022-2023 school year.   

Ms. Dunn is committed to providing a high-quality education for all students at Lawson Middle School. She has implemented a number of initiatives to improve student achievement, including a focus on early intervention, data-driven instruction, and professional development for teachers. Under Ms. Dunn's leadership, Lawson Middle School has seen a significant improvement in student achievement. In 2019, the school's state accountability rating improved from Met Standard to a C rating and in 2022, the school's rating increased from a C to an overall B rating. This is a testament to Ms. Dunn's commitment to excellence and her ability to create a positive learning environment for all students.
