Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis didn't make it down the aisle, but the former couple welcomed two kids over the course of their nine-year, fan-fave romance, son Otis and daughter Daisy Josephine. And after calling off their engagement in 2020, a source close to the pair told PEOPLE that the two stars were committed to taking care of their children without any drama, explaining, "It's been amicable and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship."

Cut to April 2022, when Wilde was unexpectedly served child custody papers in a manila envelope marked "personal and confidential" while on stage at CinemaCon discussing her upcoming directorial project, Don't Worry Darling (which stars Florence Pugh and Wilde's new love, Harry Styles.) As a source shared with Variety. "Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis," and the SNL alum reportedly didn’t know that his ex would be served papers in such a questionable manner. Variety’s source added, "Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered as this would solely be up to the process service company involved and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”

Who are Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' kids?

Wilde and Sudeikis welcomed their first child together, son Otis, in 2014, followed by their second, daughter Daisy Josephine, in 2016.

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' son Otis

The actors' eldest child was born on April 20, 2014. “Ladies and gentlemen, Otis Alexander Sudeikis has LEFT the building! (I’m the building),” Wilde tweeted alongside a photo of herself cuddling her newborn son.

Otis is "musical," according to his dad. In 2016, Wilde spoke about her then-1-year-old son having great rhythm. "Each of us are kind of wannabe musicians, so it's as if we manifested our dreams for ourselves in this child. He just has the greatest rhythm," she told Entertainment Tonight. "When I was pregnant, I did go to a lot of concerts. We've had music on every single day since he was born, so I don't know. I'm a big believer in reading to them all the time and playing the music all the time. It helps."

For his sixth birthday, Wilde and Sudeikis gifted their son a drum set. "So his birthday is April 20th. He’s a 420 baby and we got him a drum kit” Sudeikis said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2020. "But what’s nice is he plays in rhythm one drum at a time. He’s no Dave Grohl quite yet."

Otis has showed off his drum skills in a video posted by his mom in 2020. "It’s good to be Otis. We ❤️ @questlove and @thepocketkit so very much," she captioned the clip.

Just a few years earlier, Wilde's son interrupted Questlove's set for a high five. "In all my hundreds of years, I have never, ever seen anyone successfully interrupt @questlove for a high five during a set. This may be my proudest moment as a parent. Like, no matter what he does from here on out," Wilde wrote on Instagram.

Being the son of two Hollywood stars certainly has its perks. Aside from meeting Questlove, Otis had the chance to visit the set of The Mandalorian, which his famous father made a cameo on. "You may have punched Baby Yoda, but it was worth it for this moment of the world’s greatest set-visit. Dads rule. Happy Fathers Day," Wilde captioned a snapshot of Otis and Sudeikis on the set of the Disney+ series.

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' daughter Daisy Josephine

Otis became a big brother in 2016 with the arrival of his little sister, Daisy Josephine. The pair's daughter was born on International Day of the Girl (Oct. 11). Wilde announced her baby girl's birth on Instagram writing, "There goes the neighborhood. Daisy Josephine Sudeikis. Born, like a boss, on #internationaldayofthegirl. ❤️."

The pair's daughter shares the same initials, DJS, as her dad, whose real name is Daniel (Daniel Jason Sudeikis).

Wilde has previously described Daisy as a "total hambone." The Vinyl star told PEOPLE in 2018 that her daughter "will do anything for a laugh," adding, "She’s totally un-self-conscious and I find that so beautiful."

While Daisy is younger than her big brother, she is strong. In 2019, Wilde wrote: "She’s half his age and can pin him in under five seconds. That’s. My. Girl. ❤️."

Like Otis, Daisy is also musical. "She sings all day and all originals. No covers out of this kid. It's all original lyrics, original tunes," Sudeikis told DeGeneres of his "lyricist" daughter in 2020. "Maybe something every now will sound like 'Into The Unknown' from Frozen 2 or something, but I don't think we're in the copyright situation yet."

It's clear Daisy is a fan of Frozen. Wilde has shared snapshots of her daughter wearing an Elsa dress, and in 2019 she asked her Instagram followers, "How many times can you wash an Elsa dress before her powers are released, triggering a new ice age, and/or the dress rips?"

While Wilde loved that Elsa looked "pissed off on the Frozen 2 poster," she pointed out during an interview with Beanie Feldstein for InStyle that there is "still an awful lot out there that's encouraging young women to make themselves the weaker sex."

Wilde told Feldstein that it is her role as a parent "to be a safe zone of support that'll hopefully counteract what society will inevitably do to them," adding, "When Daisy hits a place where she questions her worth, I want to be the one to remind her of the strength she innately has. But it's interesting because having a boy and a girl, you really notice gender politics within your own home. She'll clean up his plate for him after dinner, and I'm like, 'Put that back!'"

Back in 2018, Wilde spoke about her desire to raise her daughter without gender stereotypes. “My little girl immediately assumes that anything pink is for her and anything blue is for her brother. And she’s only 2!” she revealed to PEOPLE. “So that means it’s out there in the world, women limiting themselves from a young age, and I’m just determined to raise her without those self-imposed limitations because the world’s gonna do it no matter what.”
