'I was never going to change my name to Kate Rocknroll!' Pregnant Winslet on why she decided not to adopt her husband's moniker
As surnames go, it's certainly among the more unusual.
And Kate Winslet has revealed that when she tied the knot with husband Ned Rocknroll, she made the decision not to take his name, and stick with her own.
The 37-year-old actress, whose marriage to Ned is her third, added that she has never changed her name with her previous nuptials so had never intended to lose Winslet this time around.
She told Usmagazine.com: 'I was never going to change my name to Rocknroll. I've never changed my name to anything so I didn’t see a reason to start now.'
No chance! Kate Winslet has revealed she had never intended to take husband Ned Rocknroll's surname
Ned, was born Ned Abel Smith, before legally changing his name to its present catchy moniker. The couple were married after a whirlwind romance in December 2012.
And Kate added that being a one of three sisters and a brother, she always wanted to keep her name for as long as she could.
She explained: 'I quite like Kate Winslet; in fact I think it's very flashy. I'm proud of my name because I'm one of three girls and we have one boy in our family so essentially the only person who is going to carry the name along is my brother and he doesn't have any children at the moment.'
Kate's admission came as she and Ned stepped out in London on Tuesday.

While pregnant Kate strided ahead confidently in another black maternity dress, her doting husband Ned kept a hand on her at all times. And Kate looked to be well and truly blooming in her chic ensemble.
She wore a black dress, a habit she has adopted throughout her pregnancy, with a striking blue jacket and a nude Prada tote.
No doubt Kate opted for comfy ballet flats to ease her the weight on her feet from her bump.
And despite the rainy weather in the capital, the Oscar-winning actress was sporting a healthy post-summer glow which was only accentuated by the striking blue jacket.
Her husband Ned was dressed casually in green jeans a grey T-shirt and red trainers.
He could be seen alternately holding his wife's hand tightly and placing it on her back as he gently ushered her through the crowd.
Ready to drop: Kate and Ned haven't got long left until their new arrival
Speaking recently about her pregnancy, Kate, who is expecting her first child with husband Ned Rocknroll, told People magazine: 'I feel completely great. Being a parent turns you inside out.'
'It completely transforms your life and, of course, your children are your absolute everything.'
Kate is also mother to daughter, Mia, 12, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton and son, Joe, nine, from her marriage to Sam Mendes.
Kate met Ned, the nephew of Virgin mogul Richard Branson, on a holiday at his Necker Island. He works on the space-travel branch of the Virgin empire.
While her ambition as an actress has far from dimmed, she said in an interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine in March, that becoming a mother taught her to have an 'abiding inner strength'.
