About
Located above Whistler Village on the side of Blackcomb Mountain, the Whistler Sliding Centre is a world-class bobsleigh, skeleton and luge facility. Public visitors can try Whistler's most unique activities, passenger bobsleigh (winter and summer) and public skeleton (winter). Aspiring athletes can join "Learn to Slide" programming for all skill levels in bobsleigh, skeleton and luge within the BC Sliding Development Centre. The facility is also a National Training Centre and popular training and competition venue for athletes from all over the world. Each year, races for all levels from beginners to the elite of sliding athletes, such as World Cups and World Championships are held on the Olympic legacy venue. Year-round, Olympic Sightseeing is available free of charge through a self-guided interpretive tour. The Whistler Sliding Centre is a non-profit organization, and all proceeds from public programs go directly towards growing sport and supporting current and future athletes!

Great experience, maybe a bit expensive for what it is, but worth it!
Would recommand for anyone but wont do it again, its something you must try in your life once.

This was a fabulous experience. The waiver is terrifying as it states that previous passengers have had compression back injuries. We found out that with a great pilot that is unlikely. This was a great opportunity. Well maintained. I felt very safe.

We did the Passenger Bobsleigh and I would recommend it. It's definitely a thrill ride and fun experience. The whole experience does take an hour and a half. Great way to end your day in Whistler!

This is a must-do for any winter Olympics fan. Fight through your nerves and enjoy a unique thrill ride that will make you appreciate the incredible athletes whose training you support through the price of admission.

Bobsledding was a blast! Everyone there was super friendly and the pre-sledding instructions gave a really good idea of what to expect from the experience.

This is a must experience when in Whistler. The staff are amazing making you feel comfortable and safe during your orientation and ride. You get a complimentary photo at the end with your driver...but definitely purchase the video. Just watched it again now that we are home. Can't believe we went 123km. What a rush. I have a new respect for the athletes who compete in bobsleigh and now know kind of what they are going through.

DO NOT RIDE!!! We were asked to ride with an older gentlemen who did not have another person to ride with since his wife was spectating only. My husband was bumped to the #4 position at the request of the staff. There was no crash, but after the ride my husband experienced fractures on T9 and T10 and required an emergency room visit for pain control and diagnosis. We did not meet any criteria for “high risk” but clearly this activity is risky. I cannot stress enough that this is unsafe and we regret this experience.

Once in a lifetime experience, I still can’t believe I went bob sleding !!! Everyone at the center was nice and knowledgeable! Due to the nature of the event, and the physical conditions bob sleding can put on your body, they offered us several times if we wanted to opt out and get a refund, in a very understanding and compassionate manner.
Our driver Chris was great! He keep us safe and was amazing! The G forces you feel when you turn the corner is unexplainable. I never felt more alive. 10/10 experience will recommend for everyone who is healthy

This was a BLAST! I would do it again in a heartbeat. The proceeds go directly to those in training, so you get to support those aspiring Olympians while also having fun. It's serious fun and not a light-hearted roller coaster ride.

Is there a copy of the waiver that needs signing? We can't find a travel insurance policy which will cover bobsleighing

Hello, our winter season will go until March 31, 2019, so there will unfortunately be no rides available on April 17, 18 and 19.
Our summer season, with summer bobsleigh, will commence in June.
Can we bobsled or Skelton in April 17/18/19 2019?

How can I go there in Whistler village? Does it need lift tickets? Can I go there by foot?

Hello Seunghyun, in the winter, you can access the Whistler Sliding Centre via the "Excalibur Gondola". The gondola is free for foot passengers (without ski gear). From the gondola mid station it is about a 10 minute walk to our venue. Other options are public transit or by car/taxi, you can find more information on our website.
I want to book things for winter( maybe January 7th). When can I start to book? And also when do the deals such as Groupon available?

As stated, the earlier the better for booking any activity at Whistler during ski season...
We try to book rooms as early as possible to get the best rates and location.
Hope you get the date you’re looking for.

I read that the bobsled was now on wheels, not on the actual ice. Can you confirm?

It is ice in the winter and wheels in the summer. I am not sure of the changeover dates; you should call or check the website to confirm.

I didn’t see any children at the time we went, personally I would say it was more of a teenage and above thing, that’s just my personal opinion though maybe have a look at there website. It is great fun, you certainly won’t regret it!

Its open year round and as others have said, ice in winter, wheels in summer which are marginally slower but i would hazard a guess at been just as much fun. We had a blast...I'm sure you will.
